However, sometimes, Epic Games will bring a special event for the end of a Fortnite season, called a Fortnite Live Event. These are usually related to the story, and they’re pretty incredible to watch.
The last Live Event was back in December 2021, with Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 8 seeing the island flipped over. And it now seems that a new event is set to release.

Will There Be a Live Event in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2?
Everything seems to be pointing at a Live Event occurring at the end of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2. However, Epic Games hasn’t confirmed anything just yet.

Plenty of leakers shared datamined information with Live Event strings, a countdown that appears in the main lobby, and more leaks with the Fortnite v20.40 update.
The latest content update also brought a new POI called The Collider in Fortnite. This POI is the IO’s Doomsday Device, which has been a major part of the latest season’s story.
And while Epic Games haven’t confirmed the Live Event just yet, a teaser was shared on the @FortniteGame Twitter account. It shared a stuttering video, which ends with the icon of a bear/mech.
Seasoned Fortnite players will recognize this Mecha-Bear icon, as it was a major part of a Live Event in Fortnite Chapter 1 Season 9.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 Live Event Release Date, Start Time, and Downtime
It’s very likely that Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2’s Live Event will begin on June 4, according to reliable leaker ShiinaBR.
While we don’t have the exact time of when the event will start yet, we know that a countdown exists in the files. This means that players will see a timer in-game for when the event will begin.

Matchmaking is usually cut off around 30 minutes before the event begins, with the event itself lasting around 15-20 minutes.
As soon as we know the exact time that the event will start, we will update this article.
Downtime will be likely to occur once the event has finished. This means that Fortnite will be unplayable for one or two days until the start of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 Live Event – What Will Happen and Chapter 3 Season 3 Preview
While we don’t know exactly what will happen during the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 Live Event, we can get a good picture from bits of evidence and information we do have.
It’s very likely that the newest POI addition to Fortnite, The Collider, will have something to do with the Live Event. It’s already starting emitting pulses in-game, meaning it’s certainly powered on.
The Collider is also known as The Doomsday Device, which was originally built as a way to break The Storm and destroy The Loop. It’s very likely that The Collider has a similar plan up its sleeve.
We also know of the Bear Mech, known as Mecha Team Leader which was teased as returning by Epic Games. Putting it all together, it seems that The Collider will be destroyed by the Mecha Team Leader during the event.
There’s also been information leaked about the Live Event by a prominent leaker called iFireMonkey. Some of these gameplay cues during the event include “Moon Pod”, “Moon Stasis”, and more related to space.
Given the fact that Darth Vader was recently leaked by reliable Fortnite leakers, there is a lot of information that Chapter 3 Season 3 of Fortnite could be Space-themed. If true, this could be one of Fortnite’s most exciting seasons.
