There’s a new weapon arriving in Fortnite as part of the new Futurama collaboration – here’s where to find Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun.
A weapon from the year 3000, this new deadly raygun will deal devastating damage, but its wielder needs to be careful to keep it cool.
Overuse it and Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun will quickly overheat, but fire carefully and you’ll never run out of plasma!
Where to Find Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun in Fortnite
Fortnite players can find Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun as Mythic-rarity Ground Loot, or by purchasing it from Bender’s NPC at MEGA City for 600 Gold Bars.
By far the easiest way to get Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun in Fortnite is to purchase it from the robot himself.
Bender can be found at the MEGA City pier every match. However, players can hire him as an NPC for 200 Gold which could cause him to be missing from the location.
Seeing as Bender is the easiest way to get your hands on the Mythic Raygun, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to hire him to ensure others can’t find it quite so easily!
How to Use Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun in Fortnite
To use Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun, simply hold R2 / RT / ZR / Left Click to fire. The weapon will blast an infinite supply of plasma in the direction of your cursor.
However, if you hold down fire for too long, the weapon will overheat, causing a lengthy cooldown period before it can be fired again.
It’s best to fire Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun until it’s close to the cooldown threshold indicated by the bar shown above. Then, swap to a secondary weapon to finish the job.
If you don’t have a second weapon, be sure to hold down the trigger in short bursts only.
Note: if you have two Rayguns, the cooldown of one does not affect the other, allowing you to fire plasma almost constantly by switching between the weapons!
According to the item description, Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun was “manufactured by MomCorp with love, hugs, and white-hot continuous-flow plasma.”
Don’t expect the futuristic weapon to be sticking around for the long haul, however. The Raygun will be vaulted in the next major update (v25.30), expected in early-mid August 2023.
