Fortnite has introduced three new modes in Chapter 5 and two of them allow players to go AFK while farming a huge amount of XP.
If you’re struggling to finish the Fortnite Battle Pass, or you just don’t fancy the grind any longer, sometimes going AFK is the best way to level up.
AFK or ‘Away From Keyboard’ farming, allows players to level up without even playing the game. And there are a couple of ways to farm Battle Pass XP in Chapter 5 Season 1:
1. LEGO Fortnite AFK XP Farming
The best way to gain Battle Pass XP while AFK is to load into a game of LEGO Fortnite. Creating a Sandbox world where you can’t die, or load into an existing Survival world and stand somewhere safe, then just walk away from the game.
Being AFK in LEGO Fortnite will provide 30,000 XP every 15 minutes for up to 3.5 hours a day. That’s 420,000 XP (or 5.25 levels) that you can earn for doing nothing.
After this point, you’ll be unable to earn any more XP in LEGO Fortnite until the following day.
We tested this method ourselves and can confirm that it works great for leveling up your Battle Pass without the need to pay attention!
In LEGO Fortnite Sandbox, you’ll be unable to die anyway, but Survival players in a safe area will also be able to take advantage of the XP farm. After all, since you’re not moving, your hunger meter won’t decrease.
But that’s not all, as there’s another mode in Fortnite that can give you a further 5 levels each day!
2. Fortnite Festival AFK XP Farming
Once you’re all maxed out on LEGO Fortnite’s XP for the day, you can still earn experience in Fortnite Festival!
To do so, simply load into Fortnite Festival Jam Stage (not Main Stage), find an available stage, and begin performing! Then, you can go AFK and come back after 3.5 hours, just like you did with LEGO Fortnite.
Like with LEGO Fortnite, going AFK in Fortnite Festival will provide 30,000 XP every 15 minutes for up to 3.5 hours a day. That’s an extra 420,000 XP (or 5.25 levels) on top of your other AFK gains!
There’s no catch to these AFK farms either – they’ve been in the game since Chapter 5’s launch and Epic Games doesn’t appear to have issues with players going AFK in either mode.
Obviously, this isn’t the case in Battle Royale or Fortnite Festival’s Main Stage modes, nor can you AFK in Rocket Racing. But in modes where you’re not harming anyone else’s experience, you can freely walk away and earn over 10 Battle Pass levels a day for doing absolutely nothing!
