Fire Emblem Engage Romance Options: Male & Female

Fire Emblem Engage has a number of romance options to explore as you deepen your bond with the cast of characters in your party. Players can choose to romance select characters by getting them your bond between Alear and your chosen partner to S Rank.

As ever, there are only certain characters that Alear can become romantically involved with. Interestingly, these characters don’t seem to differ depending on whether you’re playing the male or female version of the protagonist.

Here are all the romance options you’ll have for both genders in Fire Emblem Engage:

How Does Romance Work in Fire Emblem Engage?

In order to build a bond (and eventually become romantically involved) with a character, Alear can do the following things:

  • Fight in close proximity with them
  • Give them gifts that they like
  • Share meals with them outside of battle

Then, when the relationship is ready to advance, simply find the ally at the Somniel and talk to them.

After viewing the Support rank C, B, and A cutscenes, certain partners will also have an S rank to obtain.

Here’s where to find the Pact Ring to propose to your chosen partner!

You can give your favorite ally a Pact Ring once they are at A-Rank – but choose wisely as you can only do this once!

Once your partner has the Pact Ring and you’ll be able to view the S-Rank scene and complete your romantic journey with that character.

Can You Have Children in Fire Emblem Engage?

No, there is no way to have children in Fire Emblem Engage due to the game’s lack of a major time skip. Unlike Fire Emblem Awakening or Fates, players cannot have children with their romantic partners in Engage.

This probably doesn’t come as a shock for many players, as Three Houses also neglected to add the ability to produce offspring to the game.

And while it’s always nice to be able to see the main character get married and settle down, Engage’s story just doesn’t allow for it this time around.

Here’s Fire Emblem Engage’s full chapter list, so you can see just how much of the game you’ve got remaining.

Can You Romance a Ring in Fire Emblem Engage?

No, none of the Emblem Rings’ legendary heroes such as Marth, Corrin, or Byleth can be romanced in Fire Emblem Engage. However, you can still build a bond with the ring characters by fighting alongside them and polishing their ring after battles.

Doing so will reward the ring’s user with powerful new skills and buffs, as well as a stronger (albeit platonic) relationship.

Here’s how to get all the Emblem Rings in Fire Emblem Engage, in case you were wondering.
