The European Team of the Group Stage is likely FIFA 23’s next promo. Here are our predictions!

With European competitions entering their final games, it is very likely the Team of the Group Stage promo will follow.

The promo will feature the best performers from European competitions and there are some pretty big names expected to make the team!

FIFA 23 European TOTGS Predictions

The FIFA 23 Team of the Group Stage (TOTGS) promo is based on the best-performing players from the 6 games of the group stage in the following competitions:

  • Champions League
  • Europa League
  • Conference League

These players will receive an upgrade to their highest rated card in FUT.

Last year, EA released a 14-man squad for the promo, mainly consisting of players from the UCL group stage. Here are our predictions for FIFA 23:

Goalkeeper and Defenders

GK: Diogo Costa 79 82: The Porto keeper has a remarkable three penalty saves in the competition! After a rocky start, three clean sheets in a row have secured Porto into the knockouts.

LB: Alejandro Grimaldo 82 84: In a group of PSG and Juventus, Benfica managed to progress to the Last 16. Grimaldo picked up one goal and two assists across the campaign so far.

CB: Alessandro Bastoni 84 86: The Inter Milan defender has two assists and three clean sheets. The Italian side have progressed to the next round of the CL.

RB: Takehiro Tomiyasu 79 82: The Arsenal full back has one assist and two clean sheets across the Europa League group stage.

CM: Leon Goretzka 87 88: The Bayern Munich man has two goals and three assists so far. Bayern dominated their group including Barcelona and Inter Milan so a Bayern player is likely to appear.

CM: Jude Bellingham 86 87: Despite just receiving an inform in TOTW 6, the Englishman has four goals and one assist in the Champions League. We would be surprised if he misses out!

CM: Christian Eriksen 84 86: The Dane has two assists as Manchester United made it out of their EL group.

CAM: Manuel Lanzini 79 82: The Argentinian has performed well for the Hammers in the Conference League. He has two goals as West Ham have won all their games so far!

LW: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia 74 80: The Napoli attacker has been excellent for the Italian club this season. In just four appearances, the Georgian has two goals and three assists.

LW: Vinicius Jr 86 87: The Brazilian scored three goals and assisted once. His goals and assist have helped the UCL holders progress in the competition.

CF: Diogo Jota 85 86: Jota only started two games but has four assists in the CL.

Although Salah is the obvious choice for the Liverpool spot, it seems unlikely he will feature in back to back promos. He has just received a ST Out of Position item!

ST: Kylian Mbappe 92 → 93: Like Bellingham, the Frenchman has only just received a TOTW item but with six goals and two assists so far, we find it hard to see him miss out.

ST: Erling Haaland 89 90: The Man City forward is scoring for fun at the moment. The Norwegian’s five CL goals should secure him in the squad.

He would also receive a boost on his Ones To Watch item!

LM ST: Jose Morales 80 83: The Villarreal man is one of the top scorers in the Conference League with 4 goals.
