It’s that time again. Here are the FIFA 23 TOTW 8 predictions!

It’s been quite a tough week to predict the Team of the Week, with just a handful of standout picks. It looks like one league, in particular, may receive a lot of inform cards!

Here’s your predicted 23-man TOTW squad

FIFA 23 TOTW 8 Predictions

Starting XI

Koen Casteels – GK – 84 → 86

3 Saves & Clean Sheet / 3-0 win against Mainz / 7.7 WhoScored Match Rating

In truth, this is the least confident pick in this prediction. There was a real lack of top-quality goalkeeping performances across the week, so we’ve gone for one of the goalies who kept a clean sheet.

David Lopez – CDM → CB – 77 → 81

1 Goal & 1 Assist / 2-1 win against Athletic Bilbao / 8.1 WhoScored Match Rating

Two contributions from a defender will usually guarantee them a spot. Lopez will most likely be in the TOTW.

Theo Hernandez – LB – 85 → 86

1 Goal / 2-1 win against Spezia / 7.5 WhoScored Match Rating

Hernandez is one of the best meta left-backs in FIFA 23, so a TOTW item would definitely be desired. One goal for the Frenchman may not be enough, but after last week’s relatively poor TOTW, it wouldn’t be a surprise if EA Sports tried to bump the quality of this one.

Gabriel – CB – 81 → 84

1 Goal & Clean Sheet / 1-0 win against Chelsea / 8 WhoScored Match Rating

A goal and a clean sheet in a London derby make the Brazilian a top contender for TOTW 8. The Gunners are flying high in the league, and Gabriel’s goal gave them those crucial three points.

Frenkie de Jong – CM – 87 → 88

1 Goal / 2-0 win against Almeria / 8.1 WhoScored Match Rating

Frenkie de Jong is not a man known for his goal-scoring. The midfielder is rarely on the score sheet so there may not be a better time to give him a TOTW item!

It would also entice players to try to get him in their FUT Champs red-player picks!

Giacoma Bonaventura – CM – 78 82

1 Goal / 2-0 win against Sampdoria / 8.5 WhoScored Match Rating

The Italian scored the first goal of the game and otherwise had quite a good performance. It also wouldn’t be a surprise if Biraghi made TOTW 8, who picked up an assist in the game too.

James Maddison – CAM → RM – 84 → 86

2 Assists / 2-0 win against Everton / 8.6 Match Rating

Maddison has been in the form of his career, with many thinking he should be on the England plane to the World Cup. The Leicester man continued to impress, and this would make his second TOTW of FIFA 23.

Moussa Diaby – RW – 84 → 86

2 Goals / 5-0 win against Union Berlin / 8.9 WhoScored Match Rating

Life at Bayer Leverkusen has started quite well for Xabi Alonso and Diaby seems to be flying! Adam Hlozek could also make the team, but with a lack of big-name players to choose from, Diaby will most likely make the cut.

Christopher Nkunku – CF → ST – 86 → 87

2 Goals / 3-1 win against Hoffenheim / 9.1 WhoScored Match Rating

TOTW 8 is looking Bundesliga heavy! Nkunku is yet to receive a special card this year, and a TOTW would certainly excite FUT fans!

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting – ST – 75 → 81

2 Goals / 3-2 win against Hertha Berlin / 8.2 WhoScored Match Rating

Choupo-Moting has been Bayern’s unlikely hero this season. The Cameroonian added a further two goals to his tally as the German champions picked up three points.

The striker could have made the TOTW last week, but Sadio Mane pipped him to it. We don’t expect he will be snubbed twice.

Mohamed Salah – RW – 91 → 92

2 Goals / 2-1 win against Tottenham / 8.0 WhoScored Match Rating

Probably the most exciting player in our FIFA 23 TOTW 8 predictions. Two vital goals in what was an excellent display from Salah.

The Egyptian is sure to headline TOTW 8. The only question is will his second in form be higher rated than his recent Out of Position item?

FIFA 23 TOTW 8 Predictions Starting XI

Bench

Florian Kastenmeier – GK – 69 – 77

7 Saves & Clean Sheet / 1-0 win against St Pauli / 9.3 WhoScored Match Rating

Kastenmeier probably had the best goalkeeping performance across the weekend. However, he is simply too low-rated to make the Starting XI.

Sverrir Ingi Ingason – CB – 76 → 81

1 Goal & Clean Sheet / 2-0 win against Giannina / 7.7 SofaScore Match Rating

The Icelandic defender scored the opening goal of the game and later helped his side keep a clean sheet. Not the most exciting selection, but the squad numbers need to be filled.

Youcef Belaili – LM – 76 → 81

2 Goals & 1 Assist / 4-2 win against Strasbourg / 8.2 WhoScored Match Rating

The Algerian scored twice from the spot and missed a third to get his hat trick. 3 goal contributions are usually enough to make the TOTW, so expect the Ligue 1 winger to appear.

Jacob Ramsey – CM – 75 → 81

1 Goal & 1 Assist / 3-1 win against Manchester United / 7.9 WhoScored Match Rating

It was an eventful day for the young Englishman. He scored, assisted, won a free-kick that led to a goal, and even scored an own goal.

Despite the own goal it was a top-quality performance against Man United.

Marcus Edwards – RW – 78 → 82

2 Goals & 1 Assist / 3-0 win against Vitoria de Guimaraes / 9.2 WhoScored Match Rating

The English winger is looking like an excellent talent! Edwards is following up his eye-catching UCL performances with excellent displays in Liga Portugal.

The 17-year-old is looking like a real star!

Paul Onuachu – ST – 79 → 82

4 Goals / 4-0 win against Charleroi / 10 WhoScored Match Rating

This is pretty much a guarantee in TOTW 8. Four goals and a perfect match rating will see the Nigerian make the squad.

Evanilson – ST – 78 → 82

2 Goals / 4-0 win against Pacos de Ferreira / 8.8 WhoScored Match Rating

Two goals for the Brazilian make him a solid prediction for this week’s TOTW. If he is selected as the featured TOTW, it could make for quite a nice card considering his regular gold is Lengthy!

Reserves

Youssoufa Moukoko – ST – 69 → 77

2 Goals / 3-0 win against Bochum / 8.4 WhoScored Match Rating

It seems Dortmund have found their next big star! Moukoko has been on fire this season and added another two goals to his total!

Oli McBurnie – ST – 70 78

2 Goals & 1 Assist / 5-2 win against Burnley / 10 WhoScored Match Rating

The Scotsman helped his side net five goals against the Championship table toppers! With three contributions, McBurnie likely will be in TOTW 8.

Guray Vural – LB – 69 → 77

2 Goals / 4-2 win against Fatih Karagumruk / 8.5 WhoScored Match Rating

Two goals for a defender is a rare sight. Vural won’t be the most exciting item, but that doesn’t exclude him from being picked.

Vladislavs Gutkovskis – ST – 67 → 76

4 Goals / 7-1 win against Wisla Plock / 10 Sofascore Match Rating

Another player who scored four! The Latvian will be hard done by if he doesn’t make TOTW 8.

Tobias Lauritson – ST – 63 → 73

2 Goals / 4-0 win against Vitesse / 10 WhoScored Match Rating

Surely it would be hard to ignore a player who got a perfect 10 match rating? The Dane is certainly a top contender for TOTW 8.
