FIFA 23 TOTW 26 Predictions

Starting XI

Jeremías Ledesma – GK – 86 → 88

6 Saves & Clean Sheet / 0-0 draw with Espanyol / 8.0 WhoScored match rating

The Argentinian was the only standout option we saw this week, as he received the highest match rating in his fixture. Ledesma’s six saves gave his side a crucial point as they looked to survive relegation.

Juan Bernat – LB – 78 → 84

1 Assist / 2-1 win against Angers / 7.2 WhoScored match rating

This pick is a little punt due to a lack of defensive choices. It may not be enough with one assist, but we have gone with the Spaniard.

Nicolas Otamendi – CB – 81 → 85

1 Goal & Clean Sheet / 1-0 win against Estoril / 7.9 WhoScored match rating

The Argentinian scored the game’s only goal to give Benfica all three points. The win ensured that the gap at the top of the table remained at four points.

Fabian Schär – CB – 85 → 87

2 Assists / 6-1 win against Tottenham Hotspur / 8.0 WhoScored match rating

This could go to one of three in Schär, Isak, or Murphy. While the last two scored twice, there are already a plethora of attacking options this week, so we went with the defender.

Timothy Castagne – RB – 84 → 87

1 Goal / 2-1 win against Wolves / 7.3 WhoScored match rating

Castagne’s goal could have significant implications in the relegation battle this season. With the Foxes’ drawing 1-1, the full-backs goal brought his side out of the drop zone.

Mattias Svanberg – CM – 83 → 86

2 Goals & 1 Assist / 5-1 win against Bochum / 9.1 WhoScored match rating

The Swede was excellent, as Wolfsburg dominated Bochum. The midfielder returned with two goals and an assist in his side’s win.

Lucas Paquetá – CAM → CM – 82 → 85

1 Goal / 4-0 win against Bournemouth / 8.7 WhoScored match rating

The Brazilian was fantastic as West Ham secured three crucial points in their survival hopes. The midfielder followed up his goal in Europe in midweek with an excellent header.

Marco Asensio – RW – 83 → 86

1 Goal & 1 Assist / 2-0 win against Celta Vigo / 9.3 WhoScored match rating

Asensio rarely starts in games but was in fine form for Real Madrid as he scored and assisted in their 2-0 win.

With big games coming up for Los Blancos, the Spaniard will hope to force his way into the team regularly.

Loïs Openda – ST – 87 → 88

2 Goals & 1 Assist / 3-0 win against Monaco / 9.9 WhoScored match rating

The Belgian striker is already having quite the season with three TOTW items in FIFA 23. With three goal contributions, he is undoubtedly a strong contender for the upcoming squad.

Romelu Lukaku – ST – 88 → 89

2 Goals & 1 Assist / 3-0 win against Empoli / 9.8 WhoScored match rating

The Inter Milan forward was on the scoresheet twice before setting up teammate Martinez later. Lukaku is likely to be the main headliner of TOTW 26.

Donyell Malen – ST → RW – 79 → 84

2 Goals / 4-0 win against Eintracht Frankfurt / 9.5 WhoScored match rating

With Bayern Munich losing, Malen’s brace sent Dortmund top of the Bundesliga. Due to the importance of the goals, we expect the Dutchman to feature.

FIFA 23 TOTW 26 Starting XI Prediction

Bench

Jordi Masip – GK – 74 → 83

6 Saves & Clean Sheet / 1-0 win against Girona / 8.1 WhoScored match rating

Once again, there were minimal options for goalkeepers this week. We have gone for Masip, who made six saves, got a high rating, and kept a clean sheet.

Antonio Raillo – CB – 73 → 82

1 Goal & 1 Assist / 3-1 win against Getafe / 8.4 WhoScored match rating

Kangin Lee could also be a shout for a TOTW item, but Raillo is a defender who got two goal contributions. The Spaniard is not a certainty but is an outside contender.

Ivan Ilic – CM – 76 → 83

1 Goal / 1-0 win against Lazio / 7.8 WhoScored match rating

The Serbian scored the game’s only goal as Torino picked up a surprise victory against Lazio. With few options for midfielders, we feel he has a strong chance of making the team.

Simone Verdi – CAM – 75 → 83

2 Goals / 2-1 win against Bologna / 9.9 WhoScored match rating

The Italian was given a near-perfect match rating from WhoScored for his performance against Bologna. The midfielder struck two goals to give his side the win.

Jamie Maclaren – ST – 83 → 86

3 Goals / 3-1 win against Western United FC / 8.9 SofaScore match rating

Maclaren got three goals as Melbourne City picked up all three points. His first TOTW item could make his second an exciting card.

Cedric Itten – ST – 81 → 85

3 Goals / 6-1 win against Servette FC / 10 SofaScore match rating

The Swiss striker scored three of his side’s six goals. As always, hattricks are usually a good precursor for who will make the TOTW squad.

Luuk de Jong – ST – 79 → 84

2 Goals / 3-0 win against Ajax / 8.7 WhoScored match rating

Due to the size and history of this fixture, we feel an item is likely to feature from it. While Xavi Simons was excellent, the Eredivisie TOTS will be released on Friday, and we suspect he will make that squad.

That is why we went for Luuk de Jong instead.

Reserves

Mikael Uhre – ST – 73 → 82

3 Goals / 4-2 win against Toronto / 9.8 WhoScored match rating

Uhre is just one of the many hattricks to be scored this weekend. With so many players scoring three goals, some could be unlucky to miss out.

Marvin Ducksch – ST – 75 → 83

3 Goals / 4-2 win against Hertha Berlin / 10 WhoScored match rating

Ducksch’s hat trick gave him a perfect match rating on WhoScored. Scoring three goals usually means a player is guaranteed a spot in the TOTW.

Lawrence Shankland – ST → CAM – 68 → 80

3 Goals / 6-1 win against Ross County / 10 WhoScored match rating

Shankland scored three goals as Hearts put six past Ross County. Cochrane could also be an option, as he got two assists and a goal, but the hat trick is hard to ignore.

Marc Gual – ST – 67 → 80

3 Goals / 4-2 win against Wisla Plock / 9.9 SofaScore match rating

The Spanish striker scored a hattrick as his side came out 4-2 victors. With three goals, there is a high certainty he will feature.

Ole Romeny – LM – 62 → 76

3 Goals / 3-2 win against SC Heerenveen / 9.7 WhoScored match rating

Romeny is another player who scored three this week. While it won’t be the most exciting item, the hat trick makes him a strong contender for TOTW 26.
