FIFA 23 TOTW 24 Predictions

Starting XI

Gianliugi Donnarumma – GK – 89 → 90

7 Saves & Clean Sheet / 2-0 win against Nice / 9.2 WhoScored match rating

The Italian made an impressive seven saves as PSG secured a 2-0 win. Lionel Messi also performed well, with one goal and one assist. However, this is not enough for a player of his level to feature in TOTW.

Kim Min Jae – CB – 79 → 84

1 Assist / 2-1 win against Lecce / 8.2 WhoScored match rating

It is a bit of a slow week for defenders, so with only one assist, the Korean is certainly in with a shout. He also received the highest match rating.

Matthjis de Ligt – CB – 88 → 89

1 Goal & Clean Sheet / 1-0 win against Freiburg / 8.7 WhoScored match rating

De Ligt scored an absolute screamer from outside the box to give his side three crucial points. On top of that, the Dutch international maintained a clean sheet.

His OTW item will go to 90 Overall if he is selected.

Caio Henrique – LB – 84 → 87

2 Assists / 2-2 draw against Nantes / 8.4 WhoScored match rating

Despite being 2-0 up and drawing 2-2 in the end, Henrique still deserves a TOTW item. His two assists put his side two goals ahead in the first half.

Matheus Uribe – CM – 85 → 87

1 Goal / 2-1 win against Benfica / 7.5 WhoScored match rating

While only scoring once and receiving a relatively low rating, the occasion of this match-up may get Uribe into the team. The Colombian scored the equalizing goal as Porto cut the gap to first by three points.

Sergej Milinković-Savić – CM – 87 → 88

1 Goal / 2-1 win against Juventus / 7.1 WhoScored match rating

The Serbian opened the scoring as Sarri got the better of his previous employers. Zaccagni is the obvious choice, but his recent TOTW means Milinković-Savić is likelier.

Joelinton – CM – 75 → 83

2 Goals / 5-1 win against West Ham / 8.6 WhoScored match rating

In Newcastle’s midweek match, Joelinton scored two goals as his side eased their way to three points. If included, we suspect he may get the featured item.

Jack Grealish – LW → LM – 84 → 87

1 Goal & 1 Assist / 4-1 win against Southampton / 8.7 WhoScored match rating

Grealish was unlucky to miss out on TOTW 23, with De Bruyne being included instead. The Englishman continued his fine form and will be unfortunate to miss out two weeks in a row.

Denis Bouanga – LM → LW – 85 → 87

3 Goals / 3-0 win against Austin FC / 10 WhoScored match rating

The Gabonese winger was in excellent form, netting a hat-trick against Austin FC. With his last TOTW being an 85 overall, another item would make an exciting FUT card.

Marcus Thuram – ST – 84 → 87

1 Goal & 1 Assist / 2-0 win against Wolfsburg / 8.1 WhoScored match rating

The French striker was at the heart of the action as Borussia M’Gladbach beat their opposition 2-0. Thuram had a hand in both goals, scoring one and assisting the other

Samuel Chukwueze -RM → RW – 84 → 87

2 Goals / 3-2 win against Real Madrid / 9.4 WhoScored match rating

Like Thomas Muller last week, Chukwueze’s inclusion may be hindered by his recent FUT Birthday item. However, with two goals against Real Madrid in a 3-2 win, it is hard to ignore.

Bench

Guillermo Ochoa – GK – 80 → 84

10 Saves / 1-1 draw against Inter Milan / 8.7 WhoScored match rating

Despite conceding early on, the Mexican goalie was incredible throughout the game to deny Inter a second goal. His ten saves kept his side in the game, and his heroics were rewarded when Candreva scored a last-minute equalizer.

Hiroki Ito – CB – 72 → 82

1 Goal / 3-2 win against VfL Bochum / 7.7 WhoScored match rating

The Japanese was on the scoresheet as Stuttgart secured all three points. With his base silver item having 84 pace, his upgraded item could be an underrated card in FUT!

Matheus Nunes – CM → RM – 79 → 84

1 Goal / 1-0 win against Chelsea / 8.4 WhoScored match rating

What a goal this was from Nunes, and the repercussions could be huge in the relegation battle. The CM was played on the right, so expect a position change.

Ivan Jaime – CAM → LW – 72 → 82

2 Goals / 3-1 win against Pacos de Ferreira / 8.8 WhoScored match rating

The Spanish attacker scored two goals as his side got all three points. His second goal put his side ahead, with his second securing the win.

Michael Olise – RW – 76 → 83

3 Assists / 5-1 win against Leeds United / 10 WhoScored match rating

Hodgson is back at the helm of Crystal Palace and is off to an excellent start. Olise was the man of the match, picking up three assists.

Steven Berghuis – CAM → RW – 84 → 87

2 Goals & 2 Assists / 4-0 win against Fortuna Sittard / 10 WhoScored rating

Berghuis received a perfect match rating for his two goals and two assists.

Kyogo Furuhashi – ST – 75 → 83

2 Goals / 3-2 win against Rangers / 8.3 WhoScored match rating

Kyogo was on the scoresheet twice as Celtic won this Old Firm Derby. Two goals in one of the fiercest games in football could be just enough to cement his inclusion.

Reserves

Abdessamad Ezzalzoul – LW – 70 → 81

2 Goals / 2-1 win against Elche / 9.2 WhoScored match rating

The Moroccan was on the scoresheet twice as Osasuna got the win. We suspect the winger could get a more significant upgrade if awarded the featured item.

Gijs Smal – LB – 69 → 81

3 Assists & Clean Sheet / 4-0 win against Cambuur / 9.1 WhoScored match rating

The FC Twente defender secured a hat-trick of assists and kept a clean sheet. I will be surprised if he is omitted.

Daniel Kemp – LM → RM – 64 → 79

3 Goals / 4-1 win against Grimsby / 9.2 WhoScored match rating

The Hartlepool winger scored a hat-trick as his side returned with all three points. With three goals, he is a likely addition to TOTW 24.

Leonardo Sernicola – RB – 69 → 81

1 Goal / 3-2 win against Sampdoria / 8.6 WhoScored match rating

Despite not starting the game, Sernicola ultimately decided it. With a 94th-minute winner and a goal-line clearance, the Italian has a real chance to feature.

Benie Traore – RW → ST – 62 → 79

3 Goals / 3-1 win against Hammarby / 8.5 SofaScore match rating

With three goals, the Ivorian is a likely contender for TOTW 24. He will be unlucky if he misses out this week.
