FIFA fans often deem Team of the Year as the largest event of the year. A host of new, highly-rated players will make an appearance, but when exactly will that be? Here’s the official FIFA 20 TOTY release date and how to get them.

FIFA 20 Team of the Year Release Date

When does the FIFA 20 TOTY come out? Team of the Year players will be available in packs starting at 6PM GMT / 10AM PST on  Monday, January 6.

If tradition is anything to go by, attackers will be the first wave of players to release. This will be closely followed by midfielders, defenders, and then finally goalkeepers at a later date. It likely won’t be until January 9th where all TOTY players are available to obtain – but this is far from confirmed.

How to Get FIFA 20 TOTY Players

There are numerous ways to get FIFA 20 Team of the Year players. You can obtain them in packs, although the chances of that are very unlikely. If you do not wish to spend your coins on packs, then you can always purchase TOTY cards from the transfer market.

It’s important to note that there might not be many TOTY players available on the market, to begin with, that’s because of how rare they are. With this in mind, EA will likely launch various different limited-time pack offers in celebration of the Team of the Year. This should increase your chances of acquiring them, even though it’s still extremely unlikely.

If you want to play with FIFA 20 TOTY players but don’t have enough coins to purchase them, then do not worry. If last year is anything to go by, they will be available in FUT Drafts – which can be entered with either 15,000 coins or 300 FIFA Points.

At the moment, Lionel Messi, Virgil Van Dijk, and Alisson Becker all look like the most likely contenders for the Team of the Year. These will be accompanied by a slew of other players, of course.
