Why Do Fans Hate the Fortnite Season 4 Battle Pass?

With the launch of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 underway, fans have begun criticizing its Battle Pass – here’s everything we know.

Every Season, Fortnite introduces a brand-new Battle Pass for players to progress through. Featuring new cosmetics, skins, emotes, and more to unlock, these Battle Passes are often the highlight of the Season.

Unfortunately, Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 has apparently failed to inspire players old and new with its Battle Pass. While people have enjoyed certain aspects of this chrome-covered Season, they believe the Battle Pass is really letting it down.

This isn’t the first time fans have been let down, as many were left wondering why the Imposters mode has been removed from Fortnite.

Fan Reaction To The Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass

Despite the variety in skins, there seems to be a handful of core reasons that have led to fans really hating the new Battle Pass:

  • A lack of custom cosmetics
  • Little to no theming
  • Lack of Halloween skins
  • Includes some of the lowest-rated skins in the survey

While, of course, the Battle Pass has its fans, for the most part, it seems that people dislike one or more of the skins and are referring to it as one of the worst Battle Passes in Fortnite.

Lack Of Custom Cosmetics

One of the issues many have levied against this Battle Pass is how few custom cosmetics are available. Customizable skins can be altered with new styles that are unlocked through completing various challenges.

Only last season, players received a customizable skin in the form of Snap. Players could switch its head, arms, legs, and torso to create their own unique version, making it a far more interesting and dynamic skin.

However, outside of Byte’s pickaxe in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4’s Battle Pass, there are little to no customizable cosmetics.

Lackluster Theming & No Halloween Skins

Many feel that the Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass doesn’t do a good enough job of making its skins feel relevant to the ongoing story. Thus far, theming in Fortnite Battle Passes has always been mixed.

Fans have also cited the lack of Halloween skins as one of the biggest issues with this Battle Pass. With the Fortnitemares event just around the corner, many were hoping for more Halloween-related cosmetics.

Lowest Rated Skins In The Fortnite Survey

Fans get to vote on Fortnite skins through surveys and said skins then appear in the game. Some fans have speculated that some of the lower-rated skins in the survey were included in this Battle Pass.

It is possible that some of the skins fans have speculated were rated higher may appear in the Item Shop at a later date. However, many are still left wondering why their favorite ones didn’t make the cut.

Of course, there is a lot more coming to Fortnite in Chapter 3 Season 4 including the brand-new slide kick mechanic.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass Explained

There are a number of new skins available with the Chapter 3 Season 4 Battle Pass. These are all of the ones available:

  • The Paradigm
  • Bytes
  • Meow Skulls
  • Spider-Gwen
  • Lennox Rose
  • Grriz
  • Twyn
  • The Herald

Spider-Gwen – whose design will be familiar to anyone who has seen the Into The Spiderverse movie – is a Tier 100 unlock.

The Paradigm, on the other hand, will be available as an immediate unlock to anyone who buys the Battle Pass, albeit an unmasked version of them. Players could actually buy The Paradigm years ago, but she’s back now with a redesigned look and Brie Larson voicing her.

The villain responsible for all of the chrome sweeping Fortnite’s massive map, The Herald, can be unlocked by following these steps later in the season.

Meow Skulls is perhaps the other most noteworthy skin, as it is a redesign of the iconic Meowscles skin that was popularised a while ago. However, this time Meow Skulls has dropped the six-pack in favor of all-black clothes, ripped jeans, and a gloomy expression.
