To open the Eye Chests in Hogwarts Legacy, players need to cast the Disillusionment Charm to turn invisible before approaching and interacting with the chest.
The Disillusionment Chest’s giant eye will see you coming if you’re close, so turn invisible from afar and then approach to make sure you can open it before it locks down.
If the chest sees you coming, it’ll make itself impossible to open, ensuring that you can’t get at the goodies inside. However, if you move far enough out of range, the Eye Chest will relax its guard and let you try again.
And, like all of Hogwarts Legacy’s hardest-to-access places, Eye Chests are well worth your time. These containers are filled with 500 Gold apiece, which will keep your finances looking good.

Unfortunately, opening Disillusionment Chests feels like one of Hogwarts Legacy’s more evil actions, as the newly-open container will seemingly pass out from shock right afterward.
How to Turn Invisible in Hogwarts Legacy
To become invisible in Hogwarts Legacy, you’ll need to learn the Disillusionment Charm. This spell is learned during the mission ‘Secrets of the Restricted Section,’ shortly after your first trip to Hogsmeade.
Once learned through the story mission, equip the spell using Right on the D-Pad, then cast it by pressing R2/RT and the corresponding button.

When invisible, you’ll be mostly concealed from enemies. However, they can still see you if you’re being too obvious, getting in their direct line of sight, or when you attack.
However, approaching an enemy from behind while under the effects of the Charm will let you immediately cast Petrifucus Totalus to incapacitate them without a fight.
Casting Disillusionment while in combat will not be effective, as enemies will know to look for you, and you’ll quickly be spotted.
