Every Major Quest in Elden Ring

Elden Ring’s story is deeply woven into its world and NPCs, but sometimes it can be challenging to keep track of every major quest.

Fans have been trying to make sense of the Elden Ring lore and the story rooted deeply in the Lands Between.

Some of it can be seen by progressing through all the main story bosses, but a surprising amount can be missed by players looking just to finish the main story.

Elden Ring doesn’t make it simple either since there is not an easy way to track the progress of the different quests you’ll find. You’ll need to make do with some of the map elements FromSoftware offers.

But to make things easier for you, here is every major quest in Elden Ring and how to start it.

A lot of these quest lines can be affected by progressing the storyline through the main bosses. Make sure you are exhausting every NPC’s dialogue options thoroughly.

Some will not give you the quest or item until you’ve talked to them 2-3 times.

White Mask Varre – Gain Early Access to Mohgwyn Palace

White Mask Varre is an NPC that many players are very familiar with. He appears at the very beginning of your adventure in Limgrave and gives you a very brief explanation of how Sites of Grace work.

He also mentions that your first order of business should be finding some maidens. Technically, he’s not wrong since finding Melina unlocks the Roundtable Hold and the ability to level up with runes.

But many players don’t know that White Mask Varre has a questline. This quest can be accessed once players have been granted an audience with the Two Fingers.

Players will be able to find him in the Rose Church, and progressing through his quest will grant players access to Mohgwyn Palace.

Mohgwyn Palace has one of the best endgame rune farming locations.

You will also have a chance to obtain revenge for his “maidenless” comments, and even one of the best helms for the OP Vampire Build.

Brother Corhyn – Achieve “Age of Order” Ending

Players will be able to begin this quest by finding him in Atlus Plateau following Rennala’s defeat.

He will be located just north of the Atlus Highway Junction Site of Grace.

Completing the Brother Cohryn quest will allow players to obtain the Age of Order ending to the main storyline.

You can also initially find him in the Roundtable Hold, where he can teach you certain Incantations. If you bring him prayerbooks, then it will allow him to teach you even more varied Incantations.

Fia – Achieve “Age of Duskborn” Ending

Players will be able to begin Fia’s quest after resting at any Site of Grace in Atlus Plateau. Return to her in the Roundtable Hold and accept her offer to embrace.

An option to talk in secret will pop up. Exhaust the dialogue, and she’ll give you a Weathered Dagger.

This quest will take players through the secret area, Deeproot Depths.

Nepheli Loux – Obtain Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone

Players will be able to begin the Nepheli Loux quest by speaking to her in a room right before the Godrick the Grafted boss fight in Stormviel Castle.

She will only appear after players have talked to Sir Gideon Ofnir.

Diallos – Obtain Hoslow’s Petal Whip

The Diallos storyline will take players through a roller coaster of emotions. Players will first find Diallos in the Roundtable Hold.

Here you will be able to talk to him, and he will mention looking for a certain Lanya.

After this, he moves back just north of the Academy Gate Town Site of Grace. Talk to him here to initiate the quest.

Dung Eater – Achieve “Blessing of Despair” Ending

After gaining access to Atlus Plateau, players will be able to find Dung Eater sitting inside the room past the Twins.

You will need to find at least one Seedbed Curse to activate his quest. Bring it to Dung Eater, and he will ask you to bring more.

He will also give you a key and move to the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds of Leyndell.

Iron Fist Alexander – Obtain Shard of Alexander

Completing Alexander’s questline will allow players to obtain the Shard of Alexander. This talisman boosts the attack power of skills, proving very useful for the Frost Mage Build.

Players will be able to start the quest by helping Alexander get unstuck near the Stormhill area. Make your way past the Beast Shack, and eventually, you will come across him.

Just hit him a few times to get him unstuck.

Bloody Finger Hunter Yura – Obtain Eleonora’s Poleblade

Players will be able to initiate Bloody Finger Hunter Yura’s questline by defeating Bloody Finger Nerijus near Murkwater Cave.

You will find Yura slightly north of this fight, where you can speak to him to initiate the questline.

You can also meet him northeast of the Seaside Ruins under an overpass. He will warn you about the dragon that guards the lake.

But if you don’t interact with him here, it will not affect your quest progress.

Sorceress Sellen – Obtain Best Intelligence Armor

Completing the Sorceress Sellen quest line is crucial if you’re looking to build your class on intelligence-based weapons or sorceries.

Players will be able to start the quest by becoming Sorceress Sellen’s apprentice in the Waypoint Ruins on the western side of Limgrave.

This quest involves a lot of different locations in Elden Ring and can get a bit complicated. Make sure you have all your Sites of Grace unlocked.

Millicent – Obtain Rotten Winged Sword Insignia Talisman

The Rotten Winged Sword Insignia Talisman is one of the best items in the game, especially for players looking to improve their Dexterity weapon.

To get it, players will need to complete Millicent’s questline, which is one of the more lengthy tasks Elden Ring offers.

You’ll need to make your way to Gowry’s Shack in Caelid and exhaust his dialogue options to start the quest.

He will mention wanting to help out a girl that suffers from scarlet rot.

Ranni – Achieve “Age of Stars” Ending

Players looking to complete the Age of Stars ending will need to speak to Ranni in Ranni’s Rise, north of Caria Manor.

If you’ve been to the area with the Sword of Night & Flame, then you might have already past this area before.

After defeating Royal Knight Loretta, you’ll encounter an area with three towers. The one in the middle is Ranni’s Rise. Enter it, and you should find Ranni at the top.

Her questline will take you in a completely separate direction from the main game and require you to fight some formidable enemies like Astel, Naturalborn of the Void.

Hyetta – Replace Your Finger Maiden, Melina

Completing the Hyetta questline will allow players to replace their Finger Maiden, Melina.

This is the only known instance of this being possible in the game. You’ll need to find Hyetta near the Lake-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace in Luirnia of the Lakes.

Players will need to first speak to Irina at the beginning of the Weeping Peninsula, just passing the Bridge of Sacrifice.

Rest at a Site of Grace and head back to Irina’s location. You will see that some Demi-Humans have killed her.

Now you should be able to talk to Hyetta.

It is heavily hinted that Hyetta and Irina are of the same body but different souls.

This area will be unlocked to players directly after defeating Godrick the Grafted. However, you can skip Stormveil Castle altogether to find her more quickly.

Rya – Gain Entry to Volcano Manor

Players will be able to gain an invitation that allows them to head directly into Volcano Manor and speak to Tanith.

To do so, you will need to find Rya first in Liurnia of the Lakes. She will be located just north of the Laskyar Ruins.

Exhaust her dialogue, and you will be able to begin her questline.

Boc the Seamster – Alter Garments for Free

Players that find Boc the Seamster will be able to alter their garments free of charge. They’ll also be able to partake in one of the more endearing Elden Ring storylines.

Boc will be near the telescope in the northeastern area of Limgrave.

If you approach the area, you will start to hear someone talking. Follow the sound of the voice, and you should find Boc disguised as a bush.

Tanith – Gain an Audience with Rykard, the Blasphemous

Players will be able to speak to Tanith after heading to Volcano Manor through Rya’s questline.

She will ask you to join the Volcano Manor family. Accept, and she will send you three different requests that you will need to complete to gain an audience with Rykard, the Blasphemous.

The ending to this quest is one of the more shocking ones we’ve seen in Elden Ring! Make sure you see it all the way through.

Patches – Obtain Bull-Goat Armor

For some reason, Patches, questline will guide you to Volcano Manor and offer interaction with Tanith.

It’s not yet known if the quest progress past that. There are theories that it could be like Nepheli and Diallos quest lines which were expanded on in the recent patch.

To begin the quest, you will need to make your way to Murkwater Cave in Limegrave. Here you will need to fight Patches and spare him.

If you kill him, you will be locked out of the quest, and not even a Celestial Dew will bring him back.

Knight Bernahl – Obtain Blasphemous Claw

Knight Bernahl can be found in the Warmaster’s Shack in Stormhill. But to initiate his quest, you will need to join the Volcano Manor family.

After doing so, he will move to Volcano Manor and don his complete armor set.

Doing his quest will allow you to obtain the Blasphemous Claw, which can be used to reflect Maliketh’s Black Blade attack.

Players will also be able to summon him for the Godskin Duo fight.

Latenna – Obtain Ancient Dragon Somber Smithing Stone

To start Latenna’s quest, you’ll first need to find her in the Lakeside Crystal Cave.

After obtaining her summon there, players will then be able to progress through Latenna’s questline and get an Ancient Dragon Somber Smithing Stone.

This is one of the rarest items in the game, so this quest is very well worth your time.
