The elemental swords are getting a major buff, but the January 3 patch has more than just Wonder Weapons changes in Black Ops 6 Zombies!

If you’ve been playing the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies map and found the elemental sword Wonder Weapons slightly underwhelming, you’re not alone.

Now, finally, we might be getting the melee Wonder Weapons that we’ve been waiting for, thanks to a January 3 buff that will give the blades some serious upgrades.

Elemental Swords Wonder Weapon Buffs

The long-awaited elemental sword Wonder Weapon buffs are now confirmed to come to Black Ops 6 Zombies as part of the January 3 patch.

According to a statement made by the developer on social media site X (formerly Twitter), the first patch of 2025 will introduce buffs to all four elemental swords, as well as implementing new fixes to Citadelle des Morts.

The developer hasn’t revealed exactly how the swords will be adjusted just yet, but we can only hope that the blades will be able to slice through multiple enemies at once in the future.

All Four Elemental Swords in Black Ops 6 Zombies

Right now, only one enemy can be hit at a time, which make the weapons hard to take advantage of at higher rounds.

And while the blades each deal exceptional single-target damage, some of their special abilities are far weaker than the others.

The January 3 patch is excellent news for the Zombies community, who have been calling for buffs to the underwhelming Wonder Weapons since Season 1 Reloaded dropped.

Treyarch already adjusted the Wonder Weapons once in December, ensuring that they would deal ‘much greater damage’ against the Citadelle des Morts Main Quest boss. However, this was after a nerf to all melee damage against The Guardian.

January 3 Early Patch Notes

In addition to the elemental swords getting major buffs, players can also look forward to a number of other additions to Black Ops 6.

Although the Double XP period will be coming to an end, both Multiplayer and Zombies are set to receive new gamemodes, including a Squid Game-inspired event.

What’s more, bug fixes are dropping for the new Zombies map, Citadelle des Morts, and the High Roller Wildcard will be introduced for online Multiplayer.

But we think it’s fair to say that by far the most exciting thing coming to the patch is the Wonder Weapon buffs.

We’ve put together a ranked list of elemental swords in Citadelle des Morts, from worst to best, to help you decide which is best for you!
