Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 just got a major balance patch that overhauls the performance of the Citadelle des Morts Wonder Weapons, the elemental swords.
When Season 1 Reloaded dropped, Black Ops 6 Zombies fans discovered that their new map’s Wonder Weapons weren’t quite as impressive as they had hoped.
For those unaware, Citadelle des Morts features four elemental swords that can be upgraded by completing specific side quests in-game.
Now, as of the January 3 patch, the elemental swords just got a huge buff – and each blade also has some specific changes worth noting.
All Elemental Swords Changes – January 9 Patch Notes
All Swords
The following buffs apply to all four elemental sword Wonder Weapons, as well as the regular Bastard Sword with no upgrades:
- All swords can now hit two enemies per swing, instead of just one.
- The additional hit does 100% damage at close-medium range, but only 50% at longer distances.
- Swords can now parry the Amalgam’s grab attack.
- Aether Shroud’s Void Sheath Augment no longer decreases sword damage.
Balmung – Darkness Sword
- Darkness ability now triggers more frequently when the blade is charged.
- Balmung charges after 25 kills (down from 40).
- Cooldown decreased from 20 to 10 seconds.
- Slightly lowered chance to activate sword’s passive.
Durandel – Lightning Sword
- Electrical Beam special attack damage increased.
- Each damage tick does 65% of base zombie health (up from 40%).
- Ability activates more frequently when charged.
- Decreased cooldown from 25 to 3 seconds.
- Slightly lowered chance to activate sword’s passive.
- Fixed a bug that made Durandel’s special invisible to other players.
Caliburn – Fire Sword
- Now activates Napalm Burst Augments when the sword passive triggers, similar to Durandel and Balmung’s effects.
Solais – Light Sword
- Reduced Armor regeneration effectiveness.
- Lowered Armor regeneration percentage from 5% to 4% each swing.
- Slightly increased swing interrupt time.
If you’re wondering why Solais received nothing but nerfs, it’s because it tops the list of the best elemental swords in Black Ops 6 Zombies.
However, even though the Light Sword received several specific nerfs, it still benefits from the general buffs that applied to all elemental swords.
Therefore, we think it’s safe to say that Solais is still the best of the bunch – but it’s great to see all other blades being brought more in-line too!
