Elden Ring news has been thin on the ground since the game’s announcement, but new information may be coming soon.
All we know about Elden Ring is it’s a dark fantasy game and a collaboration between George R.R. Martin and Hidetaka Miyazaki.
Both men have a history of building sinister and brutal worlds, so a game based on both of their twisted minds sounds incredible. The only problem is we don’t know much about it.
The original teaser trailer didn’t tell us much, but it certainly seemed like something right out of a Dark Souls game, judging by its art style. According to Miyazaki that’s exactly what we can expect.
“Collaborating with George R.R. Martin to create the Elden Ring mythos has been a genuinely delightful experience and a source of wonderful inspiration. The team is working hard to ensure that the world of Elden Ring will be a fascinating place for players to explore, filled with peril and wonder from its furthest reaches to its lowest depths.”
He went on to say, “This is a FromSoftware title through and through, rich in fantasy and RPG action. We sincerely hope you look forward to it.” Martin himself is also excited for the game to receive a proper reveal.
He said, “Building the world of Elden Ring with Miyazaki-san and his team was a treat! The graphics, mythos, and action-RPG gameplay will deliver an unforgettable experience. I can’t wait for people to see what Elden Ring has in store for them.”
What Do We Know About the Elden Ring Reveal?
We know that more information about Elden Ring is coming, but according to some industry insiders, that may be sooner than we thought.
Hype for the game is building to a fever pitch, and sources suggest that FromSoftware may have already contacted certain media groups. Or told to stand by for an update.
This was suggested by a recent tweet from Venture Beat reporter Jeff Grubb. While Grubb didn’t offer anything concrete; his tweet has set tongues wagging with speculation that he may know something the rest of us don’t.
Of course, we should temper our excitement until FromSoftware offers some confirmation. Or Grubb clarifies his meaning. But it is the closest thing we’ve had to an update in months.
Grubb is just a reporter, but we suspect he does know more than he’s letting on. And that the news is coming soon, which is why he’s teasing it.
It’s also about time we learned something about Elden Ring. It’s been quite a while after all.
Of course, a recent leak revealed the game’s possible release date, but we believe this was just a placeholder. However, the leak did give us some insight into the game's development and suggested a reveal may be imminent.
