After a recent update, it seems that some files indicate that Elden Ring could be getting ray tracing soon.

Elden Ring has been one of the biggest-selling games of 2022, and it is no surprise that FromSoftware is still updating it.

One feature that some fans are hoping to see is ray tracing, which would make The Lands Between even more beautiful.

Fortunately, it seems that Elden Ring could finally see this feature soon, thanks to some data miners.

Elden Ring Patch 1.07 Files Hint at Ray Tracing Being Added

Thanks to Twitter user @sennoutantei, we’ve had our first hint of FromSoftware implementing ray tracing for Elden Ring.

The data miner didn’t share the code themselves, but Lance McDonald did on Twitter. In the code, it suggests using ray tracing will “lock performance settings to prioritize quality”.

The code also suggests that Elden Ring will only activate ray tracing once the player exits to the title menu after changing the settings. Upon returning to The Lands Between, the game will have ray tracing.

You can check out the images of the code below, including the above settings as well as the title for ray tracing.

Elden Ring saw plenty of performance issues on PC at launch, so it remains to be seen how ray tracing would impact it.

However, the code seems to link to console versions, as they typically use quality or performance modes. Each mode will offer a variety of changes to prioritize performance or quality.

We’re sure plenty of fans are excited to see The Lands Between in a new way, giving you another reason to return.

However, the main thing most players are looking out for is news on DLC for the game. Here’s every theory and rumor for Elden Ring DLC.
