And yet, despite being primarily a single-player game, some people are predicting that Elden Ring will be the best-selling game of 2022.

The NPD Group, an American market research company, predicts that Elden Ring will remain the best-selling game of 2022, beating out Call of Duty.

Mat Piscatella, an Industry Analyst over at The NPD Group, shared a blog post on the NPD site that made predictions for 2022.

He predicts a few things, such as Nintendo Switch leading hardware sales again, and hardware shortages still continuing into 2023.
But of course, the biggest prediction is that Elden Ring could beat out Call of Duty as the best-selling premium title. Call of Duty has only been beaten three times since 2009, making this a fairly big deal.
Of course, Elden Ring is mostly single-player. This means it’s usually one and done, except for those interested in Elden Ring’s New Game+ mode or replaying the game.
So for Elden Ring to take the top spot for Call of Duty would be monumental. However, only time can tell if this will be the case.
