How to Summon Elden Ring’s Torrent
Torrent, Elden Ring’s horse, requires the Spectral Steed Whistle. This item allows players to summon Torrent.
Early on in Elden Ring, you’ll reach Gatefront. After arriving in Limgrave, having exited the tutorial area, head straight for the church directly ahead of you.
Activate the Site of Lost Grace here. From there, take the path directly North, and you’ll find another Site of Lost Grace at Gatefront.
When you arrive, rest here, and Melina will offer you the Spectral Steed Whistle.

Torrent is useful for providing quick transport within The Lands Between, as well as escaping battles with enemies.
Pressing down on the directional pad on either Xbox or PlayStation controllers to switch between items. Once you’ve landed on the Spectral Steed Whistle, hit X or Square to use the item.

Fighting enemies while riding Torrent can be quite difficult, though. Two-handed weapons can’t be used, and controlling your mount while fighting isn’t as easy as it may look.
