Paintings in Elden Ring allow players to take a break from the fighting and dive into more scenic-themed quests.
It’s no secret that Elden Ring can be punishing. Despite being labeled one of the best games of all time by Open Critic, Elden Ring is not for the faint of heart.
Sometimes, you’ll encounter certain items that offer no explanations during your travels. Most of the time, they’re pretty helpful and offer cool rewards.
One of these items is the paintings you will encounter in Elden Ring. These offer cool rewards if you solve the puzzle behind them.
Here’s where you can find them all and how to solve them!

Every Elden Ring Painting Solution & Location
Essentially what you’re looking for is the ghost of the painter as they created their art piece.
The Painting will show you a location, and you must locate this viewpoint.
Once you locate it, you’ll find a specter of the artist on a chair that will disappear into a cloud of ashes and leave behind a reward.
Homing Instinct Painting Location + Guide
Players can find the Homing Instinct Painting in the Artist’s Shack in Limgrave. It’s one of the most straightforward paintings that you’ll find in Elden Ring.
The easiest way to get here is to head to the Agheel Lake North Site of Grace. Follow the road east until you cross the bridge.
From here, you will see a fork in the road. Go left into the path and keep going north. Don’t stay on the road! Eventually, you’ll come across the Artist’s Shack.
You’ll find the spectral artist on the west side of Limgrave. Make your way to the Seaside Ruins Site of Grace and head North. You’ll see the spectral staring at some gravestones.
They’ll reward you with the Incantation Scarab Headpiece.

Prophecy Painting Location + Guide
Players can find the Prophecy Painting in Stormveil Castle. You’ll need to defeat Margit, the Fell Omen, first if you want access to the Castle!
You’ll find the Prophecy Painting in the courtyard just before the Godrick the Grafted boss fight. From the Liftside Chamber Site of Grace, head south to where you’ll find a giant and a rotten stray. Look to the right, and you should see a door that leads to the library.

You can find the spectral artist in the Weeping Peninsula. Just head to the Church of Pilgrimage, northside of the map, and at the very edge of the cliff, a specter of the artist will appear.
They will reward you with the Warhawk Ashes.
Resurrection Painting Location + Guide
You will find the Resurrection Painting in Liurna of the Lakes in an Artist’s Shack. Make your way to the Liurna Highway North Site of Grace. From here, head on the path towards the northwest. Keep going down the road, and eventually, you will come across the Artist’s Shack.
You’ll find the Resurrection Painting here.
You can find the specter of the ghost in Caria Manor, in the Northeastern area of Liurna of the Lakes. The same site where you can find the highly coveted Night & Flame Sword. The specter will be in a graveyard area northeast of Caria Manor.
You can only access them after defeating Royal Knight Loretta, so we recommend leveling up your flasks before heading into it. You’ll need all the healing you can get.
After the battle, make your way through the now unlocked archway and to the east. You’ll find the specter near a tombstone in the graveyard.
They’ll reward you with a Juvenile Scholar Cap, Juvenile Scholar Robe, and a Larval Tear which you can use to re-spec your character.
You might want to re-spec your character more often than you think. Make sure you know where to find all the Larval Tears!
Redmane Painting Location + Guide
The Redmane Painting will be one of the trickiest paintings you’ll have to solve in Elden RIng. Finding the Painting requires you to travel to Caelid. So you’ll want to have some pretty strong weapons with you already since the enemies here can be punishing newcomers.
You’ll want to fast travel to the Selia Under-Stair. From here, head up the stairs and make a right until you see some ruins to your left. You’ll see the Painting under an archway.
The Redmane painter is going to involve some platforming. So be prepared to die to fall damage a few times. Make your way to the Dragonbarrow Fork Site of Grace and head to the Minor Erdtree. From here, you’ll see some broken pot enemies.
Go to the south area of this region, and you’ll see a root from the cliff.
Jump on it and then make your way down to the other roots. We recommend starting on foot, and then once you reach the two pillar platforms, go on a horse.
Once you make it down, you’ll see a cliff overlooking a battlefield. But be careful because there is a brutal giant here. The ghost of the artist will be near the edge of the cliff.
They’ll reward you with the Rain of Arrows Ash of War.

Champion’s Song Painting Location + Guide
You’ll find the Champion’s Song Painting in The Shaded Castle. Make your way to The Shaded Castle Ramparts Site of Grace and head east on the stone path.
Follow along until you encounter an open area to your left with a stone pillar taking you down. There will be some skeletal enemies and slugs here. Look east, and you’ll see a wooden platform. Make your way to the stairs and head upwards.
You’ll find the Painting here.
To find the ghost of the artist of Champion’s Song, you will need to make your way to the Rampartside Path Site of Grace. From here, go east until you come across some lightning around some glowing yellow flowers.
From here, you’ll want to get on the cliff behind you, so just near it until you see some rocks, you can jump on. Make your way to the corner of the cliff, and you’ll see the ghost of the painter here.
They’ll reward you with a Harp Bow.
The Lands Between is massive. Knowing where to find all the Site of Grace locations will make finding these paintings a lot easier!
Flightless Bird Painting Location + Guide
Finding the Flightless Bird Painting can be relatively simple if you have the Fortified Manor, First Floor Site of Grace, seeing as they are in the same room. But if you haven’t, then make your way to the West Capital Rampart Site of Grace and head North into the small path.
From here, look to your left. You should see a giant door at the very bottom level. Make your way here. Once inside, make your way to the door on the right and follow it until you reach the Fortified Manor, First Floor Site of Grace.
The Painting will be right there.
The Flightless Bird Painter will be located north of the Windmill Village at the end of the path here. If this is your first time here, be careful as there will be a deadly Godskin Apostle boss.
Defeat them and activate the Windmill Heights Site of Grace. From here, head southeast until you come across a group of enemies dancing with pink petals everywhere. The painter will be at the edge of the cliff.
They’ll reward you with the Fire’s Deadly Sin Incantation.

Sorcerer Painting Location + Guide
The Sorcerer Painting is located in the Mountops of the Giants, one of the endgame areas of Elden Ring. To get to it, you’ll need to defeat Morgott the Omen King, a few that isn’t so simple.
You might want to think about equipping the Bloodhound’s Step Ash of War because you’ll be doing a lot of dodging. You’ll need to make your way to the Castle Sol Main Gate Site of Grace. From here, you need to enter the Castle and defeat two lion beasts with swords.
It can be a little complicated, but if you’d rather skip them, then dodge your way to the spikes on the left side. From here, make your way up the steps and to the right. You’ll see a room up ahead on the left with slugs. Climb up the ladder inside.
Once up the roof, just make your way through the path. You’ll encounter spectral enemies that can disappear and some ballista that fire exploding arrows. Dodge your way until the end, where you’ll see a ladder going down.
Climb down the ladder. The Painting will be right there.
To get the Sorcerer Painter, you’ll need to head South of Castle Sol. Fast Travel to the Freezing Lake Site of Grace. Head up towards the cliff just north of it and then head West. On your left, you will see a stone bridge.
Pass the first stone bridge and keep heading west. Eventually, you’ll come across one near the edge of the cliff. Head to the middle and face the side overlooking the frozen river.
You’ll find the ghost of the painter here. They’ll reward you with the Greathood Piece.
Once you’ve found all the paintings, then you might want to make sure you have all the Bell Bearing Locations sorted out!
