Elden Ring is a challenging game with challenging foes and dangerous landscapes. Poison is one of the most deadly occurrences due to its ability to tick away at your health continuously. Thankfully, this guide will teach you how to cure poison and avoid it altogether.

When poisoned, players will slowly start to lose HP. If left unattended, it could very well mean death for a player. This can be troublesome when exploring some of the more difficult areas.

So the best way to counter poison in Elden Ring is to completely avoid it altogether. But there are ways to cure it.

If you know you’re fighting a poisonous enemy, then there are even ways to increase your immunity to it.

How Does Poison Work

When a player is in contact with poison, a green status bar will start filling; if the bar fills up, the player will be inflicted with the poison status effect until the bar depletes or a healing item is consumed.

So it’s fairly easy to see when the player is being hurt by poison or in the process of being poisoned. But there are ways to cure poison before being inflicted with the poisoned status effect.

The easiest way to avoid poison altogether is to build up immunity.

How to Build Up Poison Immunity

Players can build up poison immunity by raising up their Immunity defensive stat by adding points to their Vigor stat, or by using certain Talismans and Consumables.

Check out our complete breakdown of the Vigor stat to see how exactly it affects immunity and even other stats.
