If you’re ready to take on another player in fair and honest duels, here’s where to look in Elden Ring.
While Elden Ring is typically a single-player experience, it does have multiplayer elements. For example, users can leave messages for their fellow Tarnished, and even briefly appear in their world.
Invaders typically can’t enter a player’s game unless they’re either summoned or a user is playing co-op. However, there’s certainly a passionate community of players who enjoy the honor of a 1v1 duel.
Elden Ring duels pit players against one another in as far a fight as a game like this allows. And if you want to take part, there are a few things you should know.

Elden Ring Best PVP Areas for Dueling
Main Academy Gate
The most popular duel location in Elden Ring appears to be the Main Academy Gate, situated outside the Academy of Raya Lucaria in Liurnia of the Lakes. Players can actually reach this area right from the beginning of the game – all they have to do is use this Stormveil Castle skip to bypass the first boss fight.
This is a great location for PVP duels, simply because it’s got a simple, circular layout around a Site of Grace, and it’s not too far into the game.
This is currently one of the most popular PVP areas in the game, and it’s full of duelists who want a fair 1v1 fight. Throw down that Duelist’s Furled Finger or Furlcalling Finger Remedy and you’ll have no problem finding a match.
Limgrave First Step
Another great location for PVP is Limgrave, the game’s starting area. However, while the open area does invite some excellent duels, there’s one big drawback.
Right now, some players are hiding from PVP fights, even after inviting enemies, in order to farm runes. Thankfully, there’s a new PVP build to kill AFK players with ease, flipping the odds against these users.
You’ll still find a lot of great duels in early Limgrave, but it’s worth noting that right now you’ll find a lot of AFK players too.

Finally, for those who miss the good old days of dueling on Iron Keep Bridge in Dark Souls 2, Impassable Greatbridge might just be the best option. You can reach this location before battling Radahn, one of Elden Ring’s most popular boss fights.
Although not as popular as the above two locations, this spot offers an epic Caelid skyline, alongside a straightforward bridge battleground.
There are even a few obstacles and edges to watch out for, in order to provide a slightly varied dueling ground. And, of course, there is a nearby Site of Grace and no enemies to be found.
