To celebrate Bethesda’s MMORPG dropping for the first time on the Epic Games Store, the game is absolutely free to claim this week. And all players that claim the title, whether they play it or not, will receive the Sigil of the Alliance War Back Bling for free.
But those who enjoy the Elder Scrolls Online experience also have the opportunity to get another item, the Ebonheart Battleaxe, for free in Fortnite too!
How to Get the Ebonheart Battleaxe in Fortnite
There are two ways to get the Elder Scrolls Online’s Ebonheart Battleaxe in Fortnite:
- Purchase it in the Item Shop for 800 V-Bucks
- Get it as a free reward when purchasing The Elder Scrolls Online Necrom DLC on the Epic Games Store.
It’s nice that Epic Games is offering the new item as a free reward for those purchasing the latest Elder Scrolls Online DLC, but those looking for a good deal are out of luck.
After all, the Necrom upgrade costs $39.99 on the Epic Games Store right now.
Thankfully, you can at least claim the base game for free this week, because if you had to buy the edition that includes it, you’d be looking at a $60 price tag.
However, since the Ebonheart Battleaxe will set you back 800 V-Bucks in the Item Shop, and 1000 V-Bucks retails for $7.99, you are effectively getting a $6 item for free.

What’s great about the Ebonheart Battleaxe is that it is both a Harvesting Tool and a Backbling in Fortnite. If a player equips both versions of the axe, they’ll be able to pull it right off their back and use it in-game!
