Scorestreaks are powerful rewards granted to Black Ops Cold War players who rack up enough score. Here’s how to get them fast.
In Black Ops Cold War, the game uses a Scorestreak system to dispense rewards to players. These rewards are based on performance, with the system attempting to improve on the Killstreak function from prior titles.
Unlike with Killstreaks, Scorestreaks don’t reset on death, and players can work towards their rewards through playing the objective and more. In theory, it’s a good concept.
Unfortunately, Black Ops Cold War players tend to hate the Scorestreak system, and it certainly does have its flaws. But there are ways to exploit the Scorestreak mechanic to your advantage.
Here’s how to quickly rack up score and earn Scorestreaks in Cold War:
How to Get Scorestreaks Fast in Cold War Multiplayer
Some of Black Ops Cold War’s best Scorestreaks can turn the tide of battle in an instant. It won’t be as fast as the strange Cold War bug that gives out free Scorestreaks, but we bet we can help you improve your score earnings.
In a new video by TheXclusiveAce, the YouTuber shares some tips with players hoping to maximise their Scorestreak potential.
First of all, it’s important to note that the best way to earn score fast in Cold War, is to go on a killing streak. The reason for this is that players get a huge bonus to their XP with each subsequent kill.
However, the bonus does reset upon dying, meaning that it’s actually better to play it safe and go for kills, even on Objective game modes. And there lies the biggest flaw of the Scorestreak system.
Getting 10 kills in a row nets you a whopping 2000 score, which puts you one step closer to that Gunship. Even getting 5 in a row leads to an extra 500 points.
Going on kill streaks is the best way to earn your Scorestreak rewards, but it’s not the only way.
Other Ways to Earn Scorestreaks Fast in Cold War
Use the Assassin Perk
Using Assassin in your loadout is a great way to earn score fast in Black Ops Cold War. Not only does the Perk turn an enemy player who is on a killing streak into a crosshair on your map, but you’ll get bonus score for ending their streak.
What’s more, the higher the streak the enemy was on, the more score you’ll get for taking them down. This is why Assassin is one of the most underrated Perks in Black Ops Cold War.
Make Use of Your Equipment
Equipment can be a big help when aiming to rack up the score fast in Cold War. After all, hitting someone with a stun or flash grenade will provide extra score to you when you kill them.
On top of that, you’ll get score simply for catching players in the tactical equipment’s range. As TheXclusiveAce points out, this score does tend to add up over the course of the game.
Black Ops Cold War’s Best Scorestreaks
Using some of Black Ops Cold War’s best Scorestreaks, players can earn bonus score to make their biggest rewards easier to attain. The Spy Plane and Counter Spy Plane will provide extra score when getting kills with the streaks active.
But the real Scorestreak to utilize when aiming for high-end rewards is the War Machine. The powerful grenade launcher allows players to rack up kills with ease, and it’s one of the only rewards to continue to count towards you killstreak.
TheXclusiveAce recommends that players rack up a few kills before activating their War Machine. This way, you’ve got a much higher chance of getting the large killstreak bonuses with the powerful weapon.
The Best Field Upgrades in Black Ops Cold War
If you’re wanting to earn score fast in Black Ops Cold War for Scorestreak purposes, make sure to run the Field Mic or Jammer Field Upgrades.
These useful tools not only help you in-game, they also never expire and provide 25 bonus score for every kill you get in their radius. Plant them around an objective, preferably in a safe spot, and watch your score tick upwards.
But if you choose, you can instead opt to run the Assault Pack. Using this Field Upgrade provides 25 extra score for every kill made using the ammo from this pack.
You’ll also get extra score when you or an ally picks up your Assault Pack’s special ammo.
Although it’s only been seen in a teaser, we know that a new Black Ops Cold War Scorestreak is coming soon – and it’s a hot one!
We’ve also seen hints of a second new Black Ops Cold War Scorestreak in the game’s files.
Unfortunately, we don’t know when either will be dropping just yet. After all, the latest Black Ops Cold War update is breaking the game again for some fans.
