EA Comms Director Responds to Battlefield 2042 Fan Backlash

The EA communications director has finally responded to the Battlefield 2042 fan backlash from angry and disappointed players.

It’s fair to say that the launch of Battlefield 2042 was far from smooth. Unfortunately, this rocky release has continued in 2022 as well.

With the game still lacking polish and being plagued by glitches, the Battlefield 2042 player count is dropping every day. It has gotten so bad that many Battlefield fans are happy that older Battlefield titles now have more players than 2042.

However, this doesn’t mean that players have given up on Battlefield 2042 just yet. In fact, they have been very vocal about all of the improvements Battlefield 2042 needs despite EA’s silence on the matter over the past few weeks.

That silence has just come to an end though with the EA communications director responding to Battlefield 2042 fan backlash.

Battlefield 2042 Fan Expectations are “Brutal”, Says EA Communications Director

Shortly after the game’s director said that Battlefield 2042 improvements will “take some time”, the communications director at EA has weighed in on the fan backlash.

Yesterday, EA communications director, Andy McNamara posted a couple of rather controversial (and since deleted) tweets about the ongoing work DICE is putting in to fix Battlefield 2042.

Many fans were not happy to see that McNamara responded to the Battlefield 2042 backlash by calling fan expectations “brutal”. This is because all they want is Battlefield 2042 to be in a more playable state – something which they would argue should have been the case at launch.

However, it isn’t all bad news. At least DICE has “things in motion” to fix the game.

Unfortunately, fans should still temper their expectations somewhat. This is because McNamara says it will “take time to scope, design, and execute” these improvements.

Let’s just hope that the next Battlefield 2042 is better than the broken update 3 which led to fans requesting refunds for the game! Otherwise, the backlash from Battlefield 2042 players will get even worse.

On that case, you guys should have NOT released the game then. You guys knew that the game isn’t perfect. In my opinion, even not merely 30% complete during the release! No one will know if the game is working properly or not, except you and your team! Like the famous saying, “ IF IN DOUBT, PULL OUT!!!!” I’m a big fan of the game but now it’s a big disappointment. And I wish I could get my money back!!! And I could have bought the Vanguard instead!

This game is straight trash!!not only is completely broken it doesn’t feel like a battlefield game.It feels like a cheap arcade cod game!never thought i would hate a battlefield game.This game sucks!!!!asking for my money back!There is no fixing this game.No way to fix it when everything about it is completely garbage.trash it and start over!R.I.P BATTLEFIELD ⚰️

I am sticking to BF2042. I really enjoy and don’t have any wait time issues. Playing on X Box. I do have to comment on the Com Director’s comment. LMAO. You are a huge, highly profitable company. You want your customers to feel sorry for you? We choose to play your game. Your company makes choices everyday that impact the user base. Unfortunately your choice (especially in initial design) were not good. The worst choice was the “let everyone feel good attitude”. Wow, I was awarded 12 min. for staying alive. Go play Sims for that crap. This is war. We live vicariously through our character. I love being a teenage Asian girl and sometimes a middle aged Russian lady. NOT Stop with the lame excuses and fix it.
