A new Dragon Age adventure is just around the corner, with today’s announcement of Dragon Age Dreadwolf.
It’s been 8 years since the release of the last Dragon Age game. Now, the franchise is back with a brand-new title that’s bringing back some fond memories.
Our first official Dragon Age 4 announcement dropped at The Game Awards in December 2018. Since then, we’ve only had minor teases at what’s to come – until now.
It seems that Dragon Age Dreadwolf will follow on directly from the plot of 2014’s Inquisition. And there’s now no doubt that the character of Solas (AKA the Dread Wolf) will be returning in a major way.
Dragon Age: Dreadwolf Logo Revealed
A small teaser revealed the official name of Bioware’s new title, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf, confirming the return of Solas, the Dread Wolf, as an antagonist.
Bioware took to Twitter to share a small teaser video. The teaser showcased the official logo and title of Bioware’s latest Dragon Age title. Solas was revealed as the main antagonist of the Dragon Age series in Inquisition.
So it looks like Dread Wolf will finally wrap up his storyline and explain more behind his motives. Something that should please Dragon Age players.
Despite this, Bioware has confirmed that new players will not need to play past games in order to get familiar with the story.
We also know that the success of Jedi: Fallen Order and the disappointment of BioWare’s Anthem may have led to Dragon Age Dread Wolf being a single-player-only title.
Although Inquisition managed to pull off multiplayer without being too cumbersome, we’re happy to see a return to classic single-player Dragon Age. It will be interesting to see what mechanics Bioware adds to keep things fresh.
Unfortunately, this new Dragon Age title will not be coming anytime soon. Although, Bioware has stated that more information will be available later this year.
But Dragon Age Dreadwolf won’t be the only major game reveal dropping today!
