Fans are shocked as Dr Disrespect is banned from a major Warzone tournament, that has a prize pool of $100,000.
It's obvious that major streamers aren't exactly hurting for cash. Major players like Dr Disrespect probably have a huge income just for doing what they do best - playing video games and entertaining viewers.
But when playing Warzone and other games is your sole source of income, it helps to compete in tournaments too. After all, not only can you make a name for yourself as a game's top contender, but there's often a huge prize pool up for grabs.
That's certainly the case at the Toronto Ultra Warzone tournament, which has a payout of $100,000. Unfortunately, it looks like Dr Disrespect is banned from attending the event entirely.
Dr Disrespect Not Allowed to Compete in Toronto Ultra Warzone Tournament
According to regular teammate and fellow streamer Zack 'ZLaner' Lane, Dr Disrespect is not allowed to compete in the Toronto Ultra Warzone tournament.
In a new announcement on Zlaner's Facebook Gaming channel, the streamer broke the bad news to fans.
"I’ve got some bad news, unfortunately," Zlaner announced. "I’m still going to be playing in the Toronto Ultra tournament, but Doc is unfortunately not going to be. He’s not allowed to play."
According to Dr Disrespect's regular duos partner, the user received a message from tournament organizers Toronto Ultra and Call of Duty. In the message, the TOs explicitly state that Dr Disrespect is not able to compete in this event.
Is Dr Disrespect Banned From Warzone Tournament Because of Twitch?
Zlaner assumes it has something to do with the Doc's Twitch ban. For those unaware, Dr Disrespect's mysterious Twitch ban is the cause of a great deal of confusion.
Despite once being one of the platform's biggest streamers, the reason for Dr Disrespect's Twitch ban remains a mystery to this day. However, it does mean that Disrespect cannot appear on any Twitch streams in the future, even on other channels.
"I messaged Doc right away, and I was like, 'bro, is there any magic you can pull or anything you can do?' and he said, 'unfortunately not. It’s weird that they’re not letting me play in this thing."
Zlaner goes on to confirm that he will play with the two-time in another upcoming tournament soon. However, for now, the streamer labels the $100,000 Toronto Ultra tournament organizers actions' "weird and petty."
A ban from a Warzone tournament of this scale has got to hurt. It's probably a big reason why Dr Disrespect is looking to switch to Battlefield 6's battle royale when it comes out.
Dr Disrespect has also been very vocal about wanting Warzone to evolve in Season 2. Perhaps Call of Duty itself is taking offense at the major streamer's comments.
After all, Dr Disrespect recently called out Activision and Twitch over Warzone Tournament cheating. It could be that the user is no longer allowed to partake in Call of Duty tournaments due to his actions.
