Activision has just announced that they will rectify one of their most criticized decisions involving the Double XP Tokens for the MW2 Vault Edition.
Modern Warfare 2’s Vault Edition launched for some without the usual list of in-game extras, including Double XP Tokens.
But now, Call of Duty has announced that players that bought the MW2 Vault Edition will, in fact, be receiving those 10-Hour Double XP Tokens.
Activision Giving All Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition Owners Double XP Tokens
Activision has announced that players who purchased the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 2 will receive 10 Hours of Double XP Tokens and 10 Hours of Double Weapon XP Tokens to use in-game.
This is regardless of whether they have purchased the Vault Edition from one of the Call of Duty in-game stores or not.
Additionally, if you upgrade from the Standard Edition to Vault Edition via the in-game store or the platform store, you will also receive the Double XP Tokens.
At first, MW2 had only given these Double XP Tokens to players who pre-ordered the game through any Call of Duty in-game store. You can read more about this highly controversial situation here.
But now it seems that Activision has realized this might be unfair to players. Now, all players who purchased the Vault Edition will be able to claim their Double XP Tokens, regardless of where they purchased it from.
How to Claim MW2 Vault Edition Double XP Tokens
Any player that purchased the Modern Warfare 2 Vault Edition will see the 10 Hours of Double XP Tokens and 10 Hours of Double Weapon XP Tokens in their game in less than 48 Hours.
There is nothing that you have physically to do to claim them. They will automatically be in your account in no time.
Although, this will only apply to players that already own the MW2 Vault Edition or plan to purchase it in the future. Players with any other edition of Modern Warfare 2 will not get the Double XP Tokens.
