Call of Duty typically games give players big-budget globe-trotting campaigns to play through before they delve into the multiplayer mode, and fans are likely wondering if MW3 (2023) will get one too.
MW2 (2022) saw players take on the roles of multiple Task Force 141 members in an attempt to take down the terrorist Hassan Zyani. However, it ended on a cliffhanger, teasing the return of the infamous villain Makarov.
So, will MW3 (2023) feature a campaign that continues the story of Task Force 141? Below we outline absolutely everything there is to know about the game’s campaign.
Does MW3 (2023) Have a Campaign?
Yes, MW3 (2023) does have a single-player campaign mode separate from the multiplayer modes.
It is a direct sequel to the events of MW2 (2022) and the third entry in the Modern Warfare reboot series.
The MW3 (2023) story will follow Task Force 141 members Soap, Ghost, Gaz, and Price, alongside many others in their attempts to take down Makarov and returning villain General Shepherd.
Much like the previous games in the reboot series, MW3 (2023)’s story will be tangentially related to the original MW3, predominantly in its characters, including the villainous Makarov.

MW2 ended with an after-credits sequence in which a plane is hijacked by terrorists, with one of the terrorists receiving a text from Makarov stating, “No Russian.”
This likely is where the MW3 (2023) story will begin, or at the very least, will be one of the inciting incidents that set Task Force 141 on its mission to hunt Makarov.
