After God of War 2018’s great inclusion of a New Game Plus mode, many players may be wondering whether Ragnarok offers something similar.
Whether you’ve just started Kratos and Atreus’ latest journey or are nearing the conclusion, you’re likely hoping that you can replay the game with all of your new upgrades.
Lots of games offer a New Game + mode so you can experience the game again without worrying about grinding from the start, but does God of War Ragnarok have this option?
Is There a New Game + Mode in God of War Ragnarok?
There isn’t a New Game Plus option in God of War Ragnarok. However, it may come later with a future update to the game, based on God of War 2018.
If God of War is anything to go by, we imagine that the update with New Game + will release in early 2023 for God of War Ragnarok.
While you wait for New Game +, you might want to do a full completionist run by getting all of the trophies for God of War Ragnarok.

God of War 2018 didn’t receive the New Game + mode until August 2018, four months after the game’s initial release. That being said, it offered a variety of interesting changes compared to the first playthrough.
The New Game Plus update for God of War 2018 added a new material, Skap Slag, as well as new ‘+’ variants of Talismans, Armor, and more. Not only that, but it also offered the ability to skip cutscenes, as well as different enemy attack patterns on higher difficulties.
We believe that the update including the New Game + option will release in March or April 2023, roughly four months after Ragnarok’s release.
Maybe you have collected all of the armor, if so, you could find out how to use the Transmog system to better customize Kratos’ look.
