There’s a mysterious new building appearing in Warzone 2’s DMZ mode – here’s how to access Building 21 and all the secrets it’s hiding.

DMZ has been a massive success for Activision already, and Warzone players are loving the more casual take on the extraction shooter gameplay.

But what will really determine whether DMZ hype is here to stay is whether or not Infinity Ward continues to support the mode. Thankfully, Al Mazrah is already getting its first DMZ update with Season 1 Reloaded.

The major update brings a brand-new building to explore, and it might just be DMZ’s most deadly location yet.

Is Building 21 Active in Warzone 2 DMZ?

Building 21 is not currently available to infiltrate.

Building 21 is not currently live in Warzone 2 DMZ.

Based on previous releases, it seems like Building 21 will become active every Friday at 6 PM GMT / 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET.

This new DMZ location was only active for 72 hours the last time it was live, so you will need to be quick in completing missions.

What Is Building 21 in DMZ?

Building 21 is a biology lab and one of the deadliest locations in DMZ. Players can find incredibly high-tier contraband inside the facility, and Activision teased other secrets available to discover too.

Unfortunately, even once you get inside, you’ll need additional keycards in order to access certain special areas within the lab.

The building is now available in the game and these are the locations you can expect to see once you have entered the site.

  • Fitness Centre
  • Reception Area
  • Office Floor – 1st Floor
  • Stairwell
  • Basement Hallways
  • Garage
  • Laboratory Floor – Second Floor

There is also an “Evacuation Elevator” located on the Laboratory floor. This is how players will be able to exfil from this location.

Where Is Building 21 Location in DMZ?

Building 21 is not present in Al Mazrah, being the first DMZ location to be outside of the map. At this moment, the exact location of Building 21 is unknown.

Building 21 is “A highly classified facility rumored to be developing various types of weaponry. Since it is classified there is no way of knowing its exact location at this time.

In the future, Infinity Ward could release some easter eggs that point toward the location of Building 21. But at the moment, its location remains a mystery.

How to Access Building 21 in Warzone 2 DMZ

To access Building 21, you will first need to find a “DRC Building 21 Key Card” in Al Mazrah. Once you successfully exfil with the key, select deploy and you will be allowed to enter the Building 21 area.

Of course, you will only be able to do so when Building 21 is active in the game.

Once inside Building 21, you will only have 13 minutes to complete any missions you have. This is about half the time you get in Al Mazrah when playing DMZ.

How to Get a Key for Building 21

There are a couple of ways to find key cards for Building 21 in DMZ. There are currently three separate keys you can find:

  • DRC Building 21 Access Card
  • Red Access Card
  • Blue Access Card

The first method is finding them in Supply drops and there are three ways to access supply crates in DMZ:

  • Capturing a SAM Site in DMZ
    • Capture SAM Site to target a supply plane
    • Look for the yellow plane icon on the map
    • This will drop a Supply Crate to a random location on the map!
    • Head to this location and loot the crate
  • Set Supply Crates
    • These will drop into the map once the countdown timer hits 10 minutes
    • Look for the yellow plane icon on the map
    • This plane will drop three Supply Crates along its path
    • Head to the location of a Supply Crate
  • Killing a Commandor Helo
    • Complete the first two missions of the “Commanding Intel” assignment
    • A Commander Helo will now spawn in-game – can be seen on the map as a white skull wearing headphones
    • Shootdown the Helo
    • Helo will drop a Supply crate which can contain Key Cards

Another way to find these keycards is in the orange loot crates. These loot crates will randomly spawn across the map but if you find one, you will have a chance at a key card.

A good way to increase the chances of finding an orange loot crate is by completing a Stronghold in DMZ. Of course, you will need to purchase a Stronghold key card to do so.

You may need to loot multiple Supply & Loot Crates to find a Building 21 Keycard as they will not spawn in each crate.

This keycard was found by content creator Yungstaz and was found within a DMZ supply crate.

Make sure that when you find it you extract the keycard as soon as possible! This will let you access the location.

One thing we do know for sure is that the all-new Chimera Assault Rifle is inside Building 21!
