To complete The Pilgrim’s Footsteps side quest in Diablo 4, you need to stand in front of the statue of Akarat found at the Zakarum Chapel in Kehjistan, and use the “Follow” emote.

You must first find the “Old Book” in the Amber Sands area in the Kehjistan Region to activate the quest.

You may not have the “Follow” emote equipped by default, so we’ll show you how to equip it below. For a complete breakdown of where to go and how to activate the emote, keep reading:

1. To start The Pilgrim’s Footsteps Side Quest, head to the Amber Sands area in the Kehjistan region and pick up the “Old Book” found on the ground.
   • After interacting with the “Old Book“, you’ll be presented with a riddle
   • In order to solve this riddle, you must use the “Follow” emote at the Akarat statue at the Zakarum Chapel in the Amber Sands area

2. To find the Akarat statue, head to the location indicated on the map below
   • You’ll find it at the Zakarum Chapel in the Amber Sands area Northwest of the Altar of Ruin Waypoint in Kehjistan

3. Approach the statue of Akarat

4. Equip the “Follow” emote
   • To equip an emote, do the following:
     • On console:
       • Hold up on the D-Pad
       • Select a slot to place the “Follow” emote
       • Press Triangle/Y to open up your available emotes
       • Choose the “Follow” emote with X/A
     • On PC:
       • Press “E” on PC to open the emote wheel
       • Use your mouse to select Customize and then the “Follow” emote

5. Activate the “Follow” emote in front of the statue of Akarat

6. A hidden chest, the “Boon of the Faithful” will open on your right
   • Your next quest objective is to “Open the Boon of the Faithful”

The Pilgrim’s Journey Quest Rewards

After completing The Pilgrim’s Journey, you are rewarded with XP and gold, which will vary depending on your current level and World Tier. You will also get Renown for the region and two Elixirs.

• +30 Kehjistan Renown
• Weak Acrobatics Elixir
• Elixir of Undead-slaying
