  • C-Rank – Cowl of the Nameless, Eyes in the Dark
Rogue Unique Items Tier List in Diablo 4

S-Rank

  • Condemnation
    • Strengths: Huge Core Skills damage buff,
    • Weaknesses: Affix stats are a little underwhelming

Despite its affixes leaving a little to be desired, the Condemnation’s unique effect is where it really impresses.

You gain a significant damage buff to your Core Skills every time you spend 3 Combo Points, which you can generate with your Basic Skills. This is the best-in-slot Rogue Unique for any Combo Points build.

A-Rank

  • Word of Hakan
    • Strengths: Very fun, buffs Rain of Arrows significantly
    • Weaknesses: Poor base stats, potentially better Aspects elsewhere

It might not be the most powerful item Rogues can get, but it sure is the most fun. The Word of Hakan Amulet allows your Rain of Arrows skill to always be Imbued with all Imbuements at once, meaning that you’ll be dealing Poison, Chill, and Shadow damage simultaneously.

However, its base stats are a little lacking and it’s only for those running a Rain of Arrows build. You’ll also be missing out on the 50% increase to Legendary Aspect effects you would get on other non-Unique Amulets.

B-Rank

  • Asheara’s Khanjar
    • Strengths: Huge buffs to Attack Speed, good for Twisting Blades and Flurry Rogue builds
    • Weaknesses: Lacklustre stats

Great for melee builds, the Asheara’s Khanjar Dagger allows you to significantly increase your attack speed and thus inflict a huge amount of punishment in a short space of time.

This is great for the very powerful Flurry and Twisting Blades Rogue builds, and is an effective way of soloing through endgame content in Diablo 4.

Despite this, the weapon’s other stats are a little lackluster compared to some of the Legendary Weapons you likely come across. It also locks you out of any range-focussed builds.

  • Eaglehorn
    • Strengths: Fun to use, good base stats
    • Weaknesses: Situational – can’t always pull off

The Eaglehorn is one of the new Unique Items that was introduced to Diablo 4’s Season 1. It has a chance of causing your Penetrating Shots to bounce off of walls and scenery to increase your damage output.

This can lead to some pretty interesting gameplay scenarios, as pulling off these ricochets feels incredibly satisfying. However, much of Diablo 4 does take place out in large open areas out in the open world, meaning that it can be very situational to pull off.

Rogue combat in a dungeon in Diablo 4
  • Grasp of Shadow
    • Strengths: Great base stats
    • Weaknesses: Average unique effect

The Grasp of Shadow has pretty good base stats, such as its increase to Vulnerable Damage, one of the most powerful damage stats in the game. It also increases all Core Skills by two ranks which is a great addition to most Rogue builds.

However, its unique effect is very situational, especially as it relies on Lucky Hits. The Shadow Clone that spawns is ok, but isn’t necessarily a game-changer. You may be better off using a Legendary gear piece here with a more powerful Legendary Aspect.

  • Skyhunter
    • Strengths: High crit damage, good for Penetrating Shot builds
    • Weaknesses: Very build-specific, difficult to build up Energy

The guaranteed Critical Strike Damage that the Skyhunter Bow grants you is very good, though is only applied on the first direct damage that you deal. This means that skills that fire multiple arrows such as Barrage and Rapid Fire fall flat.

It is good for the very powerful Penetrating Shot skill as this will guarantee Critical Strikes more regularly, but makes gaining back Energy more difficult.

Diablo 4 Rogue Leveling Build
  • Windforce
    • Strengths: Double-damage and Knockback, good for PvP
    • Weaknesses: Lucky Hit effect percentage is far too low

Despite being a series staple, the Windforce Bow’s chance to inflict double damage and knockback to your enemies is great on paper, though doesn’t really work great in practice.

This is due to it being a Lucky Hit Effect with a very small percentage for it to be activated, meaning you’ll only pull it off a handful of times mid-fight, if that.

The Windforce would have ranked lower if not for its effectiveness in PvP in the Fields of Hatred. It’s here where Crowd Control Effects such as Knockback truly shine and can do well to keep aggressive players at bay.

C-Rank

  • Cowl of the Nameless
    • Strengths: Crowd control and Cooldown Reduction are good for Rogues
    • Weaknesses: Reliant on Lucky Hit, build-specific, low defense

The extra Cooldown Reduction and Crowd Control Duration of the Cowl of the Nameless are good to have, but overall this Unique is let down by its reliance on Lucky Hit.

Building around Lucky Hit can be worthwhile in the long run, but it ties this Unique Helm down to very specific builds. It also does not have the best defensive stat, which is really what the Rogue needs.

  • Eyes in the Dark
    • Strengths: Buffs Death Trap
    • Weaknesses: Extremely situational, doesn’t work the way you want it to, terrible defense and base stats

Eyes in the Dark is by far the worst Unique Item for the Rogue. Its unique effect is based on the Death Trap ability, but will hardly ever procc when you want or need it to.

When running through dungeons you’ll rarely see it re-arm as Death Trap will likely kill most enemies anyway. In situations where you need it the most, such as boss fights and PvP encounters it simply won’t work. It also adds a hefty cooldown to the Death Trap ability making this item even worse.

To make matters worse, its defense is atrocious and its base stats are pretty terrible too. Avoid at all costs.

How to Get Unique Items in Diablo 4

To get Unique Items in Diablo 4, you need to be playing in either World Tier 3 or World Tier 4. Unique Items can only drop as loot in these difficulty Tiers.

To access World Tier 3, you need to complete the Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon in Kyovoshad in World Tier 2.

Unlocking World Tier 4 will require you to complete the Fallen Temple Capstone Dungeon in the Dry Steppes region while playing in World Tier 3.

Just as with all other loot in the game, you have to play the game as normal and hope that these Unique Items will drop as loot. It’s based on random chance.

Unique Items are the highest rarity tier of gear in Diablo 4, meaning that you’re going to have a hard time hunting for these powerful pieces of loot.

Black Asylum Nightmare Dungeon rewards

Despite this, there are a few ways that you can increase your chances:

  • Play in higher World Tiers
  • Open Reward Chests and Caches
  • Defeat World Bosses
  • Take part in Helltides and open Helltide Mystery Chests (particularly Helltide Chest of Mysteries)
  • Complete Whispers of the Dead requests
  • Take part in Legion Events
  • Complete Nightmare Dungeons (higher tiers give greater rewards)
  • Defeat Elite enemies

Doing some of these activities should increase your chances of seeing Unique Items drop, but try not to get your hopes up, as they are very rare. Good luck!
