Diablo 4 fans are praising the buff to the Living Steel drop rate in Helltides in a recent hotfix for the game.
Living Steel is a new resource in the Season of Blood that is required to summon one of Season 2’s new endgame bosses. It’s an essential item in the grind for Unique and Uber Unique items in Diablo 4.
Previously, players were hugely disappointed with how few Living Steel items would drop in Helltides. Fans have been quick to applaud the buff to the Living Steel drop rate in the recent hotfix.
What is the Living Steel Hotfix?
Hotfix 3 for Patch 1.2.2 of Diablo 4 has finally fixed a variety of issues regarding the Living Steel drop rate in Season 2.
According to an official community blog post, the hotfix has increased the amount of Living Steel that can drop. It has also fixed a bug that prevented Living Steel Chests from spawning:
- Living Steel Chest in World Tier 3: Increased from 1 to 2.
- There is an additional chance for 1-2 extra Living Steels to drop.
- Living Steel Chest in World Tier 4: Increased from 3 to 5.
- There is an additional chance for 5 extra Living Steels to drop.
- All other Helltide chests will additionally grant 1 Living Steel in World Tier 4.
- Fixed an issue where Living Steel Chests could not properly spawn.

As to be expected, fans are praising the increased number of Living Steel drops in World Tiers 3 and 4. This allows players to more reliably farm materials to face endgame bosses. It improves the process for farming Unique and Uber Unique items.
