The Gileon’s Brew Elixir is a brand-new item that can only be acquired in Diablo 4’s limited-time holiday event, the Midwinter Blight.

Similar to other Elixirs in Diablo 4, Gileon’s Brew will give you a unique effect and a boost to your XP gain while felling monsters for the greater good of Sanctuary.

However, Gileon’s Brew gives a significantly higher percentage boost than any Elixir previously available in Diablo 4. It makes it an incredibly useful item for leveling!

Below we go into everything Gileon’s Brew Elixir does and how to get your hands on it.

How to Get Gileon’s Brew Elixir From Midwinter Caches

To get Midwinter Caches, you need to either complete events within the Midwinter Blight zone, or purchase them from Gileon in Kyovashad. Opening specific Midwinter Caches has a chance to drop one Gileon’s Brew Elixir.

There are three types of Midwinter Cache you can find during the Midwinter Blight in Diablo 4:

  • Midwinter Purse – only gives you gold
  • Midwinter Spoils – has a chance to drop a Gileon’s Brew Elixir
  • Greater Midwinter Spoils – a guaranteed drop of one Gileon’s Brew Elixir

Midwinter Caches have a chance to drop when completing events in the Midwinter Blight zone. After completing them, a Midwinter Cache may drop from the event chest, with a chance to give you a Gileon’s Brew Elixir for opening it.

What is Gileon’s Brew Elixir?

Gileon’s Brew Elixir is a new Elixir item releasing alongside the limited-time Midwinter Blight Event for Diablo 4 Season 2.

It gives the largest boost to XP gain of any Elixir in the game and comes with some nice unique effects for good measure.

Here are all of the effects of Gileon’s Brew Elixir in Diablo 4:

  • Increases Experience Gained by 15% for 30 minutes
  • Increases Maximum Life by 15%
  • Increases Lucky Hit Chance by 15%

The 15% boost to XP gain that Gileon’s Brew offers is very significant, as all other Elixirs in the game only give a 5% boost. That extra 10% will make a huge impact when leveling your character.

When taking into consideration the extra 20% XP boost and 45% extra duration to Elixirs from Season 2’s Smoldering Ashes, you’re looking at some serious XP gain potential!

Can you Use Gileon’s Brew in the Eternal Realm?

Yes, you can use Gileon’s Brew Elixir in the Eternal Realm! Blizzard confirmed in a recent Campfire Chat that you will be able to use the Elixir outside of the event after it has ended. Great for leveling!

However, you can only acquire Gileon’s Brew when the Midwinter Blight event is active, so it’s best to stock up while you can! This gives players only until January 2 to get as much of this powerful new Elixir as they can.
