Diablo 4 Class Tier List: What Is the Best Class?

Who is Sanctuary's mightiest defender?

Diablo 4’s unique classes offer players a variety of satisfying ways to slay demons, but many are likely wondering what the best one overall is.

Fortunately, there is a singular class that is more powerful and versatile than any of the others in Diablo 4. Keep reading to see which class you should pick!

What Is the Best Class in Diablo 4?

The best class in Diablo 4 is the Sorcerer. Their deadly AoE attacks can tackle deadly hordes of demons with ease, and their effectiveness at both close and long range makes them incredibly versatile.

Additionally, their mobility-based abilities coupled with their powerful attacks with Crowd Control enable them to quickly build up Stagger on enemies and bosses without being hurt.

Their only downside is their low base health and dependency on Mana. However, this can easily be offset with strong armor and by upgrading your stats and skills.

a tier list with the five classes in Diablo 4

S-Tier – Sorcerer

  • Strengths: Deadly Ultimate abilities, incredibly powerful, long-ranged attacks
  • Weaknesses: Lower health

The Sorcerer is by far the best class in Diablo 4. This is due to its range of unique elemental attacks capable of taking out hordes of demons in quick succession.

Their overpowered Ultimate abilities, Deep Freeze, Inferno, and Unstable Currents, deal vast amounts of AoE damage to every enemy around you and will massively reduce even the most brutal boss’ health.

Even with their base stats, the Sorcerer excels in practically every field. Of course, if you use the best Sorcerer build in Diablo 4, you’ll be an unstoppable force of nature.

A-Tier – Necromancer

  • Strengths: Can summon AI companions, capable of effective melee and ranged attacks, adaptable to any combat scenario
  • Weaknesses: Less specialized skills

The Necromancer class in Diablo 4 barely has any drawbacks, capable of both ranged and melee attacks while simultaneously summoning an undead army to fight by their side.

As a result, the Necromancer is best suited to those playing solo, as the summonable companions essentially take the place of other players.

Furthermore, their swathe of diverse abilities makes them incredibly adaptable, ensuring that no matter the scenario, you’re always prepared.

B-Tier – Druid

  • Strengths: Impressive shapeshifting abilities, powerful elemental and melee attacks, very versatile
  • Weaknesses: Not great range, difficult to master

The Druid is a specialist class in Diablo 4. It offers players plenty of untapped gameplay potential if they know how to use it correctly or find a good build.

The Druid is great at crowd control thanks to its elemental abilities and shape-shifting skills. However, while it’s certainly more powerful than the Barbarian, it isn’t as simple and can be offputting to some.

Its myriad of skills that shift it in and out of Werewolf and Dire Werebear form can be truly devastating, and its Ultimate abilities can turn the tide of battle in an instant.

B-Tier – Rogue

  • Strengths: Effective long-ranged attacks, powerful status effects, deadly Ultimate abilities
  • Weaknesses: Low health, challenging to master

The Rogue is an excellent class in Diablo 4 that can clear through even the most challenging bosses when used correctly and equipped with the right skills.

However, much like the Druid, it requires a lot of specialization and a deep understanding of what makes it so unique.

The Rogue will feel underpowered to some, but if you stick with it and choose the best skills, the Rogue can be just as powerful as the Sorcerer.

C-Tier – Barbarian

  • Strengths: Very powerful melee attacks, can use multiple different weapons, deadly Whirlwind attack
  • Weaknesses: Lacks versatility, basic skillset

While the Barbarian isn’t unplayable, it may be too simple for most experienced Diablo 4 players. Its reliance on basic melee attacks means it lacks the versatility of the Necromancer or Sorcerer.

However, if you use the best Barbarian build in Diablo 4, you can build up powerful combos that make you practically unstoppable for brief periods of time.

Ultimately, the Barbarian is a strong class that is perfect for Diablo 4 beginners but doesn’t offer much in terms of gameplay potential.
