The Aspect of Bursting Venoms is a Legendary Aspect that buffs the Rogue’s Critical Strikes with Poison Imbuement Skills.

However, some players have found that it is not working in the same way as before Patch 1.1.1 for Diablo 4 Season 1.

Learn exactly what the Bursting Venoms does, how to get it, and how the recent changes have affected it below.

How to Get Aspect of Bursting Venoms in Diablo 4

The only way to get Bursting Venoms in Diablo 4 is by finding it as a Legendary Aspect on gear. You can then extract it and imprint it onto another gear piece with the Occultist.

Unlike most other Legendary Aspects, you can’t unlock the Aspect of Bursting Venoms at the Codex of Power. It can only be found on gear you pick up.

Follow the steps below to get your hands on the Aspect of Bursting Venoms in Diablo 4:

  1. Find a piece of Legendary Gear with the Bursting Venoms affix
    • You will have to rely on RNG to find a gear piece with Bursting Venoms as it will only appear as a random drop
    • The affix is seen in orange letters next to the orange star
    • This specific affix says, “Lucky Hit: Critical Strikes with Poison Imbued Skills have up to a xx% chance to create a toxic pool that deals [X] Poisoning damage over 3 seconds to enemies within. While standing in the pool Poison Imbuement has no Cooldown and no Charge limit.”
    • Players can find this Legendary Aspect on One-Handed Weapons, Two-Handed Weapons, Gloves, Amulets, and Rings

What is the Aspect of Bursting Venoms in Diablo 4?

The Aspect of Bursting Venoms is a Legendary Aspect exclusive to the Rogue class in Diablo 4. It gives your Rogue the chance to spawn a Toxic Pool on a Lucky Hit when your Poison Imbuement effects do Critical Strike damage.

Here is the Aspect of Bursting Venoms’ effect:

  • Lucky Hit: Critical Strikes with Poison Imbued Skills have up to a xx% chance to create a toxic pool that deals [X] Poisoning damage over 3 seconds to enemies within. While standing in the pool Poison Imbuement has no Cooldown and no Charge limit.

The chance to create a Toxic Pool is a great way of dealing damage to your foes when it procs.

When you stand in your Toxic Pools, you remove all Cooldown and Charge limits for your Poison Imbued Skills. This means that you’ll be able to potentially produce more Toxic Pools and add further power to your Poison attacks.

Is the Aspect of Bursting Venoms Bugged?

No, the Aspect of Bursting Venoms is not bugged in Diablo 4. In fact, many believe the Aspect of Bursting Venoms was bugged before Patch 1.1.1.

After the Patch, the Aspect of Bursting Venoms is working as originally intended, though it has taken a considerable nerf in the process.

Before Diablo 4’s Patch 1.1.1 in Season 1, the Aspect of Bursting Venoms was proccing on every single Critical Strike dealt, rather than just the Critical Strikes dealt from Poison Imbued Skills as intended.

This meant that Toxic Pools were being spawned at an alarmingly high rate. This, coupled with the eliminated Cooldown and Charge limit for Poison Imbued Skills, made the Aspect incredibly powerful for Poison Rogue builds.

After the Patch, Lucky Hits are proccing far less for those running the Aspect of Bursting Venoms:

Despite the fix, a lot of players aren’t happy with the change as many have built their Rogues with this Aspect in mind, pre-Patch.

Hopefully, Blizzard will address this issue in a future Patch by buffing Bursting Venoms a little as a way of meeting fans somewhere in the middle.
