According to Infinity Ward, players that are repeatedly encountering Dev Error 11557 likely have a corrupted file and need to fully reinstall MW2 / Warzone 2.

If the issue persists after reinstalling, players need to set their allocated On-Demand Texture Streaming size to minimum in the game settings.

How to Uninstall & Reinstall MW2 / Warzone 2

PS4/PS5

  • Find your MW2 application on the PS4/5 home screen
  • Press the Options button on your controller
  • Scroll down and press Delete, then OK
  • Next, scroll to Game Library
  • Tab across to Your Collection and find Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
  • Press Download and wait for MW2 to install

Xbox One/Series X|S

  • From the Xbox home screen, open My Games & Apps
  • Find MW2 & Warzone 2 in your Games list
  • Press the Menu button on your controller
  • Press Uninstall and then Uninstall All
  • Head back to My Games & Apps & check Full Library
  • Choose All Owned Games
  • Find Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2
  • Press Download and wait for MW2 to install

Battle.net

  • Open the Battle.net application
  • Choose Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 from your Games list
  • Click on the gear next to the blue Play button
