Destiny 2 Confirmed for PS5 and Xbox Series X

Destiny 2

Last Updated on

During the aftermath of Microsoft’s most recent Xbox Series X reveal, fans appear to have received a little more than they intended for. In a recent tweet, Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2 is officially coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X.

Microsoft wrapped up its first episode of Inside Xbox earlier today. The episode mainly shed light on some of the Xbox Series X games. Soon after it finished, Microsoft revealed many of its third party publishers working on Xbox Series X titles. In response to this tweet, Bungie – being one of the partners themselves – touched on some plans they have in store for next-gen.

In their reply, Bungie confirms that Destiny 2 will be making its way to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Although Bungie hasn’t clarified exactly when it’ll be available, they have teased “more details to come.”

When is Destiny 2 Coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X?

While Destiny 2 was always going to be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X through backward compatibility or some other way, at least we now have official confirmation. Fortunately, it seems there will be an upgrade to enhance Density 2 for next-gen systems. These enhancements will likely include graphic improvements, as well as increased frame-rates.

Bungie hasn’t touched on when there will be an update available for Destiny 2 to support next-gen. Given its demand, it wouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see it arrive on launch. The good news, however, is that we can expect further information during the coming months.

Hopefully, this is merely the beginning of what Bungie has in store for both PS5 and Xbox Series X. Meanwhile, you check out all the games Microsoft has revealed so far, courtesy of their most recent video.
