There’s a new Special Research ticket up for grabs in the Pokemon GO December Community Day weekend. But is it worth buying?
Pokemon GO’s December Community Day is upon us once again, and these end-of-the-year celebrations are always something to look forward to.
As ever, the December Community Day gives players a chance to catch any of the Pokemon that were featured in Community Days earlier in the year. But this year, the event will actually feature of the featured Pokemon from both 2021 and 2022!
This weekend’s event will feature the following Pokemon on December 17 from 2 PM – 5 PM local time:
- Sandshrew
- Alolan Sandshrew
- Alolan Geodude
- Hoppip
- Spheal
- Stufful
And these Pokemon on December 18 from 2 PM – 5 PM local time:
- Teddiursa
- Galarian Zigzagoon
- Starly
- Roggenrola
- Litwick
- Deino
In addition, trainers have a chance to encounter Bulbasaur, Dratini, and Mudkip on both days. And ALL featured Pokemon have a chance to be shiny.

Is the Pokemon GO December Community Day Ticket Worth Buying?
Yes, the December Community Day Ticket is well worth the purchase this year in Pokemon GO.
Not only does it only cost $0.99 (or local equivalent) but it has an Elite Fast TM and an Elite Charged TM in its reward pool, as well as evolution items, a Rocket Radar, and more!
This is certainly one of the better tickets we’ve seen in recent history, especially given how hard Elite TMs are to come by.
We’d definitely suggest picking this one up but be warned – while the research won’t expire, select tasks can only be completed during the December Community Day itself.
