Cyberpunk 2077’s Day One Patch Is as Big as You’d Expect

After Cyberpunk 2077's recent delay, CD Projekt has been hard at work getting their upcoming title fit for launch. Unfortunately, all its changes to the game have left quite the impact, and Cyberpunk 2077's Day One patch is about as big as you'd expect.

All those gamers who are finally popping their Cyberpunk 2077 discs into their consoles will have quite the wait before playing. Like with many releases these days, Cyberpunk will require a Day One patch upon inserting the game, and it's a big one.

It's worth noting that you can start the game without downloading Cyberpunk 2077's Day One patch, but we wouldn't recommend it. Despite going gold, CD Projekt saw fit to further delay its release date, after all.

That means the disc version of the game is an unfinished product, to the point where CD Projekt wasn't happy to release it. And what's more, it's heavily rumored that poor console performance is the reason for the delay.

Those who already own a copy of the game will know for sure. After confusion regarding release dates, one retailer is releasing Cyberpunk 2077 early.

Cyberpunk 2077's Day One Patch Revealed

The Cyberpunk 2077 Day One patch is confirmed to be well over 43 GB large. This is on top of the game's initial 70 GB file size.

For what it's worth, Cyberpunk 2077's combined size is still lower than Warzone's insane storage requirements.

Players with an early copy of the game report a 43.5 GB update is already available to download. This update might be for when reviewers get their hands on the upcoming RPG, but it does not include the Day One patch.

According to CD Projekt's Fabian Döhla, the update is not inclusive of the upcoming launch patch. This means that the Day One update for Cyberpunk 2077 will be even bigger than this enormous file.

The Day One patch will be available at Cyberpunk 2077's official release time. Although launch day is set for December 10, players in America and other parts of the world will be able to jump in early.

This isn't the game's only reveal recently, as a new trailer just dropped for Cyberpunk 2077's breathtaking Photo Mode. With only days left before the heavily-anticipated title launches, fans will have to try hard to contain their excitement.
