Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer To Be A Standalone Product

Cyberpunk 2077 is looming on the horizon, perhaps the most anticipated single-player experience of recent years. However, it looks like there is an exciting Multiplayer experience coming to Cyberpunk 2077, which we hope is already in the works.

CD Project have recently revealed more details to do with the games planned future Multiplayer expansion.

Online Multiplayer Coming To Cyberpunk 2077

Quite obviously, news on the Multiplayer aspect for Cyberpunk 2077 is extremely scarce. I mean the game hasn't even released yet! However, that can't stop players from being excited about its inevitable arrival.

In a recent investors interview, CD Projekt announced some more details regarding the planned Multiplayer experience coming to Cyberpunk in the future.

Although this Multiplayer experience is a very long way off, expected to be in a couple of years from the games release on December 10th.

In SeekingAlpha's translated investors interview with the CEO of CD Projekt Adam Kaciński, Kaciński mentions that Cyberpunk's 2077 Multiplayer will be "A separate dedicated production, a big production".

If Cyberpunk 2077 really does live up to the unbelievable amounts of hype that is has been generating, and the Mutiplayer experience really is it's own seperate product, then players will have a lot to be excited about.

What Could A Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer Experience Look Like?

So far the only information that we can gather regarding Cyberpunk 2077's multiplayer experience is that it's a way off.

CD Projekt has already confirmed that a DLC is the next priority after the game's launch. So we imagine that this will take precedence in terms of priority.

So really, all we have is speculation at the moment. What can we expect from a Multiplayer experience in a hugely ambitious game like Cyberpunk 2077 then?

Currently, the only Multiplayer experience that a game like this could be compared to, is something like Fallout 76. Although that particular game did not have the best start and the games are very different. Fallout 76 also happens to offer an open-world RPG Multiplayer experience. This series has also primarily existed as a single-player experience in the past.

We could expect a similar system to how Fallout 76 works then? Given the caliber of game that CD Project has produced, we can't see it being a rushed Multiplayer experience.

How will the vehicles operate in Cyberpunk 2077's planned Multiplayer? Will we have a similar system to Rockstar's GTA: Online with a wide range of ever growing vehicles to choose from? Will players be able to join in a co-operative multiplayer storyline, separate from the single player experience?

Perhaps Cyberpunk 2077's online Multiplayer will feature the same single-player setting of Night City? But surely by this point players would have exhausted a lot of its content. Perhaps therefore we can expect a whole new area to explore, or maybe we are just getting ahead of ourselves?

Cyberpunk 2077 And The Near Future

For the time being, players will have to make do with a single-player experience that still promises hours upon hours of content.

Even Łukasz Babiel, Projekt's QA lead is currently wracking up the hours, topping 175 hours a few weeks ago.

Fans do have the DLC to look forward to as well, which should pave the way for an online Multiplayer experience. This will hopefully alleviate the time between the launch of the game on December 10th and the multiplayer launch.

In the meantime, players should already be deciding on a few things. Firstly, what kind of life path is going to be best for your character? It's important to think about what kind of character you are going to play in Night City.

Perhaps more importantly, how does Romance work in the Cyberpunk future? You're bound to feel a bit lonely after being drawn into this world, especially for the foreseeable future...

If you're eager to get access to the game a bit earlier, you might be able to. Take a look at what time Cyberpunk 2077 will release in your region. If need be you might be able to tweak your location for an early surprise...
