Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most exciting next-gen games coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
With very little known about the game so far, fans are eagerly-awaiting for further information. Until then, however, we'll have to make do with a thorough analysis of the Hogwarts Legacy announcement trailer.
YouTuber TheWizardingWorldNerd put together a helpful guide to all the locations shown off in the game's trailer. With this, we can see a great number of areas that players can visit in the open-world title.
In the Hogwarts Legacy announcement, it became clear that many areas in the Wizarding World will be free to explore. The game's span reaches far and wide, going beyond the school of Witchcraft and Wizardry from which it gets its name.
Which Locations Are Confirmed for Hogwarts Legacy?
The full list of confirmed Hogwarts Legacy locations are as follows:
Of course, Hogwarts itself will be the primary location where students of the school spend their time. This is the place that you'll be sorted into your house, attend classes, and explore the castle's many secrets.
The grounds of the school also look to be accessible, with locations such as the lake and the Quidditch Pitch available to explore.
Beyond that, we've seen glimpses of the Forbidden Forest where players come toe-to-toe with mythical creatures. In the game's reveal trailer, one student even encounters a dragon in these mysterious woods.
The Forbidden Forest is know to be a very old woodland area, home to many secrets. The grounds are usually off-limits to students, but exceptions have been made in the past for Care of Magical Creatures lessons, and even detentions.
Also confirmed for Hogwarts Legacy, Hogsmeade will be appearing in the game. The magical village is home to Zonko's Joke Shop, Honeydukes, and the infamous Shrieking Shack which may also make an appearance.
However, given that the next-gen title takes place in the 1800s, the small village may be a little different to how we remember it.
The trailer shows off a cave filled with Inferi, the reanimated corpses which Dumbledore and Harry faced off against when attempting to recover Voldemort's Horcrux.
In fact, this cave could be the very same one, although Tom Riddle himself is yet to be born at the time of the game's setting. One thing is clear though - the presence of Inferi means that there is powerful dark wizard on the loose.
The Wizard prison of Azkaban is one of the most mysterious locations in the Harry Potter world. A jail for dark wizards, Azkaban is a fortress on an island in the middle of the North Sea.
What players would be doing there, remain to be seen. Most prisoners inside the walls of Azkaban end up dying of despair, thanks to its happiness-drained Dementor guards.
One of the final scenes in the trailer shows off an area that TheWizardingWorldNerd believes to be the Gringotts Bank. We know that students will have to delve into the goblin-run bank to handle their finances, and all sorts of treasures can be found in its depths.
However, others believe this area to be a brand-new location we've yet to discover. For now, we'll have to wait and see what the game has in store for us.
Where Else Is Likely to Be in Hogwarts Legacy?
There are a range of other locations that aren't confirmed but are incredibly likely to be in Hogwarts Legacy. One such location is Diagon Alley, where students shop for their Hogwarts supplies.
We'll likely head here before the term even begins, and this is where players will obtain their wand from Ollivanders. We'd bet on Platform 9 3/4s also making an appearance, as we prepare to board the Hogwarts Express.
Whether all these locations will be fully-explorable or not, only time will tell. We still know very little about the game, but that hasn't stopped Hogwarts Legacy from being PS5's fastest viewed trailer.
Until the next trailer for the game drops, players will be eagerly awaiting their next hints about the upcoming venture into the Wizarding World.
