A player in the Call of Duty Zombies Subreddit has shown off the now-removed crossbow pack-a-punched in Cold War's Zombies mode- and it's the ultimate killing machine.
Cold War's crossbow has had a strange lifetime so far.
Upon its release, fans went wild trying to get their hands on it so they can take out players in-game just as they had used a similar crossbow in Warzone.
But now, the weapon is no longer present in the CoD Store. As it turns out, the weapon was released too early, and now many who had bought the crossbow have been refunded.
Cold War fans are furious about the R1 Shadowhunter mistake and are demanding for the weapon to be returned to the game immediately.
The R1 Shadowhunter was one of Black Ops Cold War Season 2's new weapons, and fans have been waiting patiently for its release. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Treyarch is willing to return the weapon to Cold War just yet.
Plus, some who were quick enough to grab the weapon actually still have the weapon. Some lobbies will have a crossbow player, without any means of getting ahold of one for yourself.
And, as one final bittersweet tease, a player has shared their use of the pack-a-punched crossbow in Zombies. And it's the ultimate killing machine.
Cold War Zombies' Pack-A-Punched Crossbow Is Insane
Reddit user SWE3N3Y has shared their incredible discovery to the COD Zombies subreddit. They've pack-a-punched their R1 Shadowhunter crossbow, and it's tearing through zombies.
They're playing on Firebase Z, and are camping at the OPC. Zombie hordes are coming upon them, but they're no match for them.
They're using their newly pack-a-punched crossbow, now called the Lance A Lot. The player is firing bolts into the mass of zombies coming at them, but they truly don't stand much of a chance.
This revelation is especially frustrating, as while it might not be in the main game, Cold War's R1 Shadowhunter crossbow is still active in Warzone.
The bolts are tearing through zombies, even travelling through some to hit others behind them.
One would worry that the reload speed might be a problem on this weapon, but it's been ironed out completely. The reload animation only lasts a few frames and is insanely quick to return ready to fire.
Plus, as the caption states, the crossbow bolts can also be picked up after use. So, if you're strategic enough, you could end up having unlimited ammo in your pack-a-punched weapon.
This sounds almost too over-powered, but it's incredibly impressive nonetheless. Maybe the papped version of the gun will be slightly nerfed before its relaunch, but if it returns in its current build, we're in for a real treat.
The crossbow isn't the only new feature recently coming to Cold War. Some awaited changes have arrived in the new Black Ops Cold War March 18 patch notes.
We're glad these small patches are coming in, especially after so many bug reports. Luckily though, Activision claims that Cold War could be supported for another 4 years.
