Treyarch's decision to introduce Black Ops Cold War's Outbreak mode was a risky move from the formulaic gameplay that most fans expect from COD Zombies. Interestingly, however, their decision paid off with an incredibly rewarding, fun, and refreshing experience for players.
Treyarch obviously wants to keep the ball rolling with new and exciting content updates for Outbreak mode. Although Treyarch is used to teasing new Cold War Zombies content in the past, fans undoubtedly expect more and more.
Ever since the launch of Outbreak mode, players have had a blast with the new Zombies Outbreak experience. There are already leaks appearing which highlight what is coming to the new mode too.

Treyarch States Outbreak Mode Is 'Just Getting Started'
Treyarch has provided a casual update thanking fans for the way Cold War Zombies Outbreak mode has been received. In the post, they highlight the popularity of the game-mode and how happy they are with player response.
Furthermore, Treyarch appears to be adding more and more content to the open-world style experience too, including teasing new Black Ops Cold War Zombies content changes.
Ever since the introduction of Outbreak mode, players have been enjoying the new and refreshing changes to the game-mode. The latest major Cold War Zombies Outbreak update has added a night cycle, amongst other very exciting events.
Interestingly, it appears that Treyarch isn't done with Outbreak mode just yet. In their latest blog post, Treyarch has thanked fans for the overwhelming response. Despite the fact that the mode features quite a few bugs, glitches, and connection problems that are ruining the experience.

As you can see from the wording of their post, it looks like Treyarch has more plans for the future of Zombies Outbreak mode. According to their message, they are 'just getting started' with Black Ops Cold War Zombies.
However, despite this fact, Treyarch is already using Outbreak mode to tease Call of Duty: WW2 Vanguard at the moment. Perhaps future Call of Duty titles will also feature a similar open-world style Zombies experience then?
Interestingly, there are also leaks appearing for Cold War Zombies. A recent leak has hinted at an Outbreak easter egg coming for Season 3. Similarly, Cold War Zombies TranZit remake has also leaked for Outbreak mode. Treyarch may be referencing their plans to add new maps, events, and content to the ever-growing mode.
