Quickly after the new Black Ops Cold War Zombies map has been released, a new glitch has appeared to break players' games.
Call of Duty's latest excursion into the world of Zombies is Firebase Z, and it already looks like a lot of fun.
The map launched this morning as a part of a free update to the game, greatly pleasing fans. It implies that Call of Duty could officially be doing away with the "season pass" model, and are focussing on player experience in-game rather than profit.
Well, they're trying at least. A potentially game-breaking glitch has arisen in Firebase Z, and it's not a good look for Activision.
Posted to the COD Zombies subreddit, the new glitch has appeared in one of the Firebase Z map's more open spaces.
Black Ops Cold Zombies Firebase Z Under Map Glitch
The user Kwoppers has expressed their disappointment in a big blind spot in Activision's developent with a game-breaking glitch.
The clip shows the player running around a huge horde of zombies in one of the map's outside areas. They're building a train of running zombies, so they can eventually turn around and unload a clip into them.
When they go to turn to take out the array of zombies, they immediately fall through the floor. The zombies immediately disappear from view, and the player is trapped under the map.
From the clip, it doesn't look like they ran into an object the wrong way, and it was entirely unprompted. They just phased through the ground, left there until they restart the game.
This is a big problem, especially as the map was only released this morning. How many more similar glitches could be out there and easy to find?
It's a particularly frustrating problem for the player, as they'd played 16 rounds of the game beforehand. They must have had no choice but to restart the game and give it another go.
It's a total bummer for the player, and we hope this Cold War Zombies glitch isn't very widespread. It's an open area, and has the potential to break a lot of player's games.
Players have been having trouble with the map's crossplay too. Not to worry, we're to the rescue- here's how to fix Firebase Z's crossplay problems.
