Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War Update 1.21 Patch Notes
Here’s everything we know that’s coming to Black Ops Cold War Season 5 at launch, in update 1.21:
The TEC-9 SMG has long been a fan-favorite weapon in the Call of Duty series. The semi-automatic submachine gun will have low recoil and a slower fire rate, but a good damage output at a moderate range.
Here’s how to unlock the TEC-9 in Black Ops Cold War Season 5.
EM2 Assault Rifle
Sure to be one of the most popular additions in Black Ops Cold War Season 5, the EM2 assault rifle is a fully automatic beast. Despite a slower rate of fire, expect reliable range and good control – complete with a built-in low-zoom optic.
Here’s how to unlock the EM2 assault rifle at launch.
Cane Melee Weapon
There’s a new melee weapon to unlock in Black Ops Cold War, and has there ever been a more stylish piece of equipment? Players will be able to add some class to their kills when bludgeoning enemies with the Cane melee weapon.
Here’s how to unlock the Cane in Season 5.
The face of Season 5, Kitsune is dropping into Black Ops Cold War with update 1.21. The Japanese Operator has 3 unique skins, and a lot of style.
She also appears in the Black Ops Cold War Season 5 cinematic trailer as one of Stitch’s newest allies.
Double Agent Game Mode
The new Black Ops Cold War Double Agent game mode is sure to turn a few heads. A game of betrayal, backstabbing, and suspicion, Double Agent draws from all the things that made Among Us and TTT so popular online.
Echelon Multiplayer Map
Finally, after being leaked countless times in the past, we’re heading to Echelon in Season 5 of Black Ops Cold War. The new Multiplayer map is shown off in the season’s intro cinematic and is set in Teufelsberg.
Also known as Devil’s Mountain, Operators will fight through the rain and the ash in the aftermath of Perseus’ latest operation.

Slums Multiplayer Map
Also joining the Black Ops Cold War sister is Slums, a second new 6v6 map that players will remember from Black Ops 2. Slums is set in Panama City, where players will fight it out throughout the town square, fountain, and laundromat and more.
Showroom 2v2, 3v3 Map
Set inside The Pines Multiplayer map, Showroom is the newest 2v2 and 3v3 arena coming in Season 5. Don’t expect this map to be as large as its predecessor however, as the Stacks department store is being cordoned off to make for some close-quarters gunfights.
New Zombies Content – Death Perception. Tesla Storm, Flamethrower
Black Ops 4 fans might remember Death Perception as one of the game’s new Perks. Now, the interesting addition is returning in Cold War Zombies.
Here’s everything we know about Death Perception in Season 5.
On top of that, the powerful new Tesla Storm Field Upgrade will assist players by boosting movement speed and blasting enemies with lightning. And a powerful Flamethrower Scorestreak will be present to add a bit of firepower to your Zombies experience.
Collateral Outbreak Map & Objective
Outbreak is getting yet another major expansion, with the addition of the new Collateral map. Set in the Algerian Desert, Collateral is an unstable area and a prime spot to harvest Aetherium Crystals.
Discover natural rock structures, a fallen satellite, and oil drills as you battle the undead and complete a new Outbreak objective here.
When activating Transport, players will ensure that a drivable objective makes it across the Outbreak Zone in one piece.
Tank Vehicle – Outbreak
Also at launch in Outbreak mode is the addition of the ultimate vehicle of destruction – the tank. Hop aboard the armored vehicle to destroy the undead hordes, with both a massive cannon and a mounted minigun.
But what the tank has in firepower, it lacks in speed – you won’t be outrunning anyone in this armored vehicle.
Grapple Gun – Outbreak
Speaking of speed, the Grapple Gun will certainly help you zip around the Cold War Zombies Outbreak map. Craft the Grapple Gun in Outbreak to fly around the open-world Zombies experience in no time.
This is sure to be one of the most fun additions in Season 5’s update, and we can’t wait to get our hands on it.
Echelon Onslaught Map
Echelon is not only coming to Black Ops Cold War Multiplayer, it’s present in Zombies too! At least for PlayStation gamers.
In Onslaught, players will be heading back to Devil’s Mountain to fight against waves of enemies, with a new Weapon Blueprint and more secrets to discover.
