Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies is getting a new map, Citadelle des Morts, in Season 1 Reloaded, and Treyarch just revealed new details about the upcoming content!
Black Ops 6 launched alongside two great round-based Zombies experiences, Liberty Falls and Terminus. This was already more content than recent COD Zombies modes had offered on day one, but Treyarch wasn’t done there.
Now, the team is living up to its promise that another fully-fledged Zombies experience will arrive before the end of the year.
And we finally know when Citadelle des Morts will release:
Citadelle des Morts Release Date
The next map coming to Black Ops 6 Zombies, Citadelle des Morts will release on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
This was revealed on social media site X, where Treyarch revealed both the map’s release date and its official logo. The developer also confirmed that the Citadelle des Morts Main Quest will go live as soon as the map releases on December 5.
In the past, Activision has teased that the game’s third round-based experience would arrive mid-season, which is usually a reference to the Season 1 Reloaded update.
Therefore, Season 1 Reloaded will likely also launch on December 5, bringing a variety of new and exciting content to Black Ops 6.
Where Zombies is concerned, the update is set to introduce a new Ammo Mod, Field Upgrade, Perk-a-Cola, and more!

But it seems that Treyarch may actually be teasing the new map’s Wonder Weapons in this very announcement…
Citadelle des Morts Wonder Weapon Teaser
Recently, dataminers have discovered references to an ‘Umbral Sword’ in the Black Ops 6 game files, which would appear to be the Citadelle des Morts Wonder Weapon.
Treyarch appears to be confirming these leaks by using the sword emojis alongside the map’s release date announcement. There are four swords present in the emojis used, which could be more important than you’d think.
Leaks suggest that the sword will have four different variants for players to wield, which would explain why the map was confirmed to be receiving multiple Wonder Weapons at launch.
On top of that, Citadelle des Morts is rather reminiscent of classic Zombies map Der Eisendrache, which featured four elemental bows as the map’s Wonder Weapon. Could this simply be another reference to the Black Ops 3 Zombies mode?
