Charizard 7 Star Tera Raid Guide – Weakness, Best Counters, End Date

The world’s first Black Crystal Tera Raid Battle is here in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. Here’s how to beat and catch Charizard in 7 star raids.

A seven star Tera Raid Battle is finally arriving in Paldea, and only the strongest trainers will be able to take them on. These special Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles contain ‘Unrivaled’ Pokemon, complete with a Mightiest Mark.

Only one of each Unrivaled Pokemon can be caught per save file, but your Charizard will be the best of the best. What’s more, this is the ONLY way to get your hands on a Gen 1 Starter in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet right now!

Charizard 7 Star Tera Raid Battle Weakness

In the 7 Star Tera Raid Battles, the Unrivaled Charizard will have a Dragon-Tera Type. Therefore, Ice, Fairy, and Dragon-type attacks will be super effective against it.

However, you won’t want to use Grass, Water, or Electric-Type moves up against this Charizard as it’ll be resistant to your attacks!

This is particularly confusing for players who still see Charizard as a Fire/Flying-Type. This time around, the giant fiery lizard is 100% Dragon, at least when Terrastalized.

Best Counters to Charizard 7 Star Tera Raid

The best Pokemon to counter Charizard in Black Crystal seven star Tera Raid Battles are:

  • Azumarill
  • Dachsbun
  • Florges

Here’s a full breakdown of the best Pokemon and moves you need to be using to take down the Unrivaled Charizard and catch it for yourself!

Azumarill

Azumarill Pokemon
  • Belly Drum
  • Play Rough
  • Rain Dance
  • Liquidation

Not only is Azumarill one of the strongest Pokemon in Scarlet & Violet’s early competitive battling meta, it’s also a Water/Fairy-Type, perfect for this fight.

While Charizard will resist Water damage as a Dragon-Type, it still uses Fire-Type moves which Azumarill resists. What’s more, Azumarill is also completely immune to Dragon!

Meanwhile, Azumarill boasts the powerful Fairy-Type move, Play Rough, perfect for dishing out super-effective damage. What’s more, by utilizing Egg Moves, you can teach Azumarill Belly Drum and make it a competitive powerhouse.

Dachsbun

Dachsbun Pokemon
  • Play Rough
  • Charm
  • Helping Hand
  • Last Resort

Another amazing option for this Tera Raid Battle is Dachsbun, a new Fairy-Type that can also make use of Play Rough. What’s great about this option is that Dachsbun’s Well-Baked Body ability negates the use of Fire-Type moves against the Pokemon, while boosting its own Defense by two stages!

Since Charizard has more than a few fire attacks, Dachsbun is likely to stay alive longer and continue to hit the boss with super-effective Play Rough attacks.

And with its Fairy-typing, this option also take no damage from Dragon moves, making it relatively untouchable.

Florges

Florges Pokemon Scarlet Violet
  • Misty Terrain
  • Moonblast
  • Synthesis
  • Rain Dance

Despite its appearance, Florges is no Grass-Type. Instead, this is a pure Fairy, making it completely immune to Dragon.

It also learns Moonblast,a move even more powerful and accurate than Play Rough. And through the use of Wish and Synthesis, it can keep itself alive for longer.

Should you wish, you can even teach Florges Rain Dance, reducing Charizard’s Fire damage by 50% for several turns!

But when it comes to the best Pokemon for raiding, there’s one Pokemon that’s soloing all Tera Raids in Scarlet & Violet right now!
