Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur are among the 3 most popular Pokemon of all time, but do they appear in Scarlet & Violet?
The Gen 1 Starter Pokemon are still perhaps the most iconic Starters in the franchise’s history. That initial choice between Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur is still hotly contested, and every fan has their favorite answer.
But as the generations have moved on, so too have our Starter choices. Here’s a full breakdown of the new Scarlet & Violet Starter Pokemon and which one is best.
For older fans though, there’s just no competing with the classics. But are Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur even available to catch in Scarlet & Violet?
Can You Find Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet?
No, you cannot find Charmander, Squirtle, or Bulbasaur in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. However, Charizard is available in exclusive Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles for those who complete the game fast enough.
It’s possible that Blastoise and Venusaur will also come to Scarlet & Violet this way in the near future, but nothing is confirmed just yet.
Where to Find Charmander in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Charmander doesn’t appear in the wild anywhere in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. However, since players can get hold of Charizard in a limited-time Black Crystal Tera Raid event, they should be able to breed that Pokemon to get a Charmander.
To breed Pokemon in Scarlet & Violet, you’ll need to use the new Pokemon Picnics feature. Bring a Ditto and your Charizard to the Picnic and you will find an Egg in the basket by the table after some time passes.
We’ll have to wait until December 1 for the first Charizard raid to go live. After that point, Charmander should be much more common around the Paldea region!
Where to Find Squirtle in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Currently, Squirtle doesn’t appear in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet in any regard.
However, since Charizard is the first to appear in exclusive new Black Crystal Raid Battles, it’s possible that Blastoise could arrive in the future.
Where to Find Bulbasaur in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

Unfortunately, Bulbasaur isn’t present in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet just yet.
We anticipate that the fan-favorite Grass-Type could eventually come to the game in Scarlet & Violet’s DLC, or as an ultra-powerful Venusaur in Black Crystal Raid Battles, however.
