Players must open the entrance to Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave in Zelda: TOTK for the Pirate Manuscript quest that is a part of the Misko’s Treasure quest line.

However, even if you find the cave itself, gaining access to it can be a little confusing. Fortunately, once you know the trick, it’s incredibly easy to open.

Below, we’ve outlined how to get into Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave in TOTK, as well as how to find it and the rewards waiting inside!

Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave TOTK Solution

To open the Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave door in TOTK, you must whistle while standing on the wooden plank by the door. To whistle in TOTK, press down on the D-Pad.

The door will then slide open, and you can enter. You cannot whistle while swimming, so you must get onto the wooden board first.

The solution actually lies in the riddle given to you as part of the Pirate Manuscript quest. It says, “shrill song of wind through lips,” which essentially means whistling.

Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave TOTK Location

The Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave in TOTK is at the very edge of the Cape Cales cliff, located in the East Necluda Region, southeast of the Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower and northeast of Lurelin Village.

Once you’ve reached the edge of the Cape Cales cliff, do the following:

• Jump off the edge and immediately begin gliding.
• Turn west (left) and slowly go around the side of the cliff (go to the location marked on the map below)

• Descend into the water.
• You will see the entrance to the cave below.

• Swim through the entrance and climb onto the wooden board inside.
• You have reached the door to the Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave.

The easiest way to get to the Cape Cales cliff edge is to fast travel to the Sifumim Shrine outside of Lurelin Village. Then climb up to the Cape Cales cliff and run past the enemy camp to the very edge.

Alternatively, you can glide from Rabella Wetlands Skyview Tower to the edge of the Cape Cales cliff.

Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave TOTK Rewards

There are two main rewards available inside the Cape Cales Cliffbase Cave. They are:

• Tingle’s Tights
• Bubbul Gem

Tingle’s Tights can be found in a chest on the pirate ship in the middle of the cave. The chest is located behind crates near the back of the ship.

To get onto the boat, do the following:

• Swim across to the front of the ship.
• Climb onto the plank next to the front of the ship.
• Use Ascend.

The Bubbulfrog can be found at the back of the cave, behind the boat, on the ceiling. To shoot it down, jump onto the wood platform near it and hit it with an arrow.
